sr20det - Where do I connect the chain to lift it out?
What points do I connect the chain on my cherry picker to lift out the motor? I'm not sure which spots would be good.

Yea but then where after that? I don't want to lift it out by the 2 mani's. I bring it through them then through the hole in the mount like the little hook on the end of the chain?

If you dont wana scratch your manifold of break/ bend a fuel line under the intake !!! Take a seat belt from an old car , cut it off and use it instead of a chain !
It will old your sr !!! I lifted my full rb26 swap with transmisssion back when i did that swap

Sorry! I now this thread is MEGA old, but I was unsatisfied with the answers of use the intake and exhaust manifold. This thread shows up via google search. I felt bumping this thread was worth it for people trying to read up what to do. Here are a few options:
Mazworx makes a really affordable option from steel. https://www.mazworx.com/store/p/194-...-Brackets.aspx $15! Not bad. They're steel and I think they'd work great. SS works https://ssworxs.com/shop/ssworx-part...t-hook-mounts/ $79 which is pretty pricey. Also made in steel. These appear to be lazer or plasma cut. Personally I didn't love either option, as I wanted something aesthetically pleasing enough to just leave in the engine bay. Removing the rear hook in the car is possible, just difficult. https://www.theexcitingspirit.com/te...r20-lift-hooks $45 waterjet aluminum so no need for paint and they won't rust etc. Confirmed them on S13 and S15. As well as the ability to install them with the engine in the car. I'm not 100% either of the other options can be due to the limited space in the back of the head while the engine is installed. |

+1 on use manifolds...when i was scared to do the same i removed manifolds, got some engine hooks off random vehicles in the junkyard, zipped em down one at the front of the engine, the other at the rear (to where manifolds were) and lifted them...i used for a long time a nylon lift strap till it became to oil soaked...using the manifolds is so much less work though
