Question Sr20det e5-Ecu pin missing- (ecu backup)

Long story short... I pulled my ecu to send out and have tuned by enjuku. I found some bad corrosion on the connector and pins. And found pin 46 actually missing and just a rusted hole in its place. I had email communication with enjuku and told them I would definitely have no problem just buying a new ecu for piece of mind. The guy said “send it anyway.. it’s worth a shot?” I sent pics of the corrosion and pins...along with detailed emails. We had communication and he told me the tuner would look it over and let me know if there were any issues i was under the impression the situation was clear and I would hear something ...if they didn’t sell me another ecu.. the pin would be repaired. Or maybe it’s totally fine to be missing that pin?
But fast foward.. I receive an email that said” the tuner didn’t find anything wrong with the Ecu.. and tracking number. “
Nothing wrong? What about the corrosion and missing pin?
It seemed the ball was dropped.
Then I opened the package.. and the connector area was exactly the same. Corrosion and missing pin. On the inside of the board.. the pin still connects to the solder joint and looks oem. It’s on the outside it’s broken off.
Paid 400$ for the tune. Anyway, I now have a tuned ecu, with a missing pin 46. And no explanation response from enjuku. Still waiting. Thoughts? Thanks.

Pin 46 is for backup power to ECU RAM while the ignition switch is off. It keeps the DTC flags, drive cycle counters, TPS closed voltage, and long term fuel trim tables "alive". It's not absolutely necessary for running the engine.

Thank you OntheChip for your response. I do wish the tuner I was working through let me know that. I’m glad I joined the forum.
I’m new to the sr20det and will most likely have a plethora of questions lol. Comforting to know I have a way to get the answers.
One other question...
could missing that pin cause a grounding issue? I’m chasing a crazy “rich” condition and want to rule out this ecu.
Enjuku wants me now to ship the Ecu back to them to repair the pin.. when I already sent it to them with the very same intent and concern. Only to have it shipped back in the same condition... but flashed.
Hopefully I’m the only one with luck like this.
Thanks again
