honestly i think its hilarious that people think these xxrs are going to be the wheels that stay on the car. sorry. i wont spend 2k on wheels just to be torn up, bent, or cracked at the track. im smarter than that.
But you'll spend 2k for a body kit to get torn up at the track, yes that makes sense please tell me about sound financial drifting decisions.

Someone called you on having XXR's whoopdie do, if it's your car and you're building it the way you wanted to, then that's all you have to say. Don't play it off like you're not embarrassed about your shit wheels because you don't know what you may or may not buy in the future because this is purely a drift car.

The thing I hate the most is people trying to fake their own damn funk. Just because hamburgs on your nuts doesn't mean everyone else is going to follow suit, everyone on this website is going to give you their 2 cents. If it's not helping you build the car then put it in savings and move on with life rather than give people who don't matter excuses on why you're a cheap ass in certain areas.

Constructive criticism is always nice. Ignorance is just annoying to me. People on the internet that think they know me are irritating.

Said from the start my intent with these XXRs. Track. Where I am from we dont drift on wheels that cost thousands of dollars and take months to get. Due to reasons stated I havent ordered any yet. No excuses. No bullshit.

As far as drifting on a $2,000 body kit? Really? Im not the only one that cant stand shit that doesnt fit. I promise. I also promise that I'm not the only one that drifts on a real kit. Plain and simple? I can drift without bumpers, but I can't drift without wheels.

If I want to run XXRs on the track I will run XXRs. I dont care what rule book I am breaking that says I cant run 500 dollar wheels on a 2400 dollar kit. I really could give a shit less. I go to the track to have fun. I dont care what idiot comes up to me and says what you just said.

I love the purely a drift car comment too. made me chuckle. a little bit. also really could care less whos "on my nuts" as long as they respect what im about and they dont touch my car. Im not a people person. I cannot stand people. So the less people are on my nuts the better. Again. You dont know me.

wayne is on point. car is cool and all, but IMO XXR is just garbage. there are so many better wheels that can be purchased that dont bust the bank, enkei rpf1 is one of the many. even used wheels fit the bill.

oh well, thats the problem with build threads.......... you're gonna get slack from people you dont know and probably dont care about

Looking good man probably gonna subscribe to this. Wheels r wheels who gives a shit. I always love how ppl mentally build ppl's cars and if it's not what they think it should be its wrong. Everyone gives me props on my wheels and then I tell them they r xxr's and all the sudden my car is garbage haha! Anyways keep up the good work man

it's his car and he's building it his way GOT IT. but all that money on parts and he's still 4 lug which means wheel selection is shit. not too mention widebody and 4 lug which means it's going to be shit wheels + spacers. but that's just my opinon and he has is, no reason to get all butt hurt about it op.

alright.dude. seriously. stop. go all the way to the beginning and reread the freakin thread. you would understand why everything that you just said makes me think your an idiot.

i dont get butt hurt about shit. especially what people think. especially people that i dont even know. im not going to sit hear and argue about my own damn car about why I do the things I do. but let me repeat this for ya.

no spacers on the rear

25mm bolt on spacer on the front FOR NOW. until my PBM flcas get here. In fact, if i were to pull it to factory camber specs, i wouldnt need the spacer. Its set to max camber just for the hell of it right now.

As ive repeated i DONT need crazy offset wheels for these fenders. +15 max and thats with a very stretched tire. I dont know if theres another "how to build a drift car" book i forgot to read but I know what Im doing. Its not my first rodeo.

I don't know why people worry about everyone else's wheels so much. I get that expensive wheels are cooler, but for function, these newer xxrs are as light as nicer wheels and come in good sizes and are still afordable. Remember, if everyone had works they wouldn't be special anymore. Let people on a budget buy budget wheels for fuck sake.

Your right about them being functional. Which is the reason I didnt mind running them in the first place. they are surprisingly light. and affordable enough to buy multiple sets. and that was the whole idea. its smart. its logical. granted my budget allows me to get a nice set of wheels for street. logically im more worried about getting the car running. when the time is right ill buy nicer wheels. i feel like a broken record. thats all this thread has been about . these fuckin wheels.

First off I read your thread, and that has nothin to do with my point.

My point is you have 30mm rear quarters/wide body but your still 4 lug. Your wheel selection is going to be extremely limited with 4 lug, let alone finding something wide enough/decent offset enough to fill the 30mm rears. Why that observation makes me an idiot, I dunno. Just my opinion and EXPERIENCE. I went through the same shit with one of my cars, you might as well upgrade to the 5 lug now while the car is still under construction.

But again, what do I know...apparently I'm an idiot.

for the 5th time. i do not have a problem with filling out the rear quarters, my stock wheels sat near flush with stock fenders after my suspension arms were installed.. If your so experienced you know that most japanese wheel companies make their wheels to order. 4 lug is available in all their sizes.

so yeah. your point is not valid. i chose to stay 4 lug. unless i seriously need to switch. i dont spend money just to spend money.. everything on the car has a purpose.

Dude SOME wheel companies make SOME of their wheel lines custom and that's extremely expensive. You could easily get the same size wheels in 5 lug for way cheaper. But you obviously know more then me and are far superior in your knowledge.

Stay four lug have custom wheels made vice go 5 and have them readily available/cheaper. I guarantee you'll save money on wheels and have a better selection if you go 5. You're all about not wasting money but youd rather have a set of wheels custom built rather then spend a few bucks on a conversion? That's all I'm saying.

um. nah. i already priced them out though. besides i have to buy "g ass wheels" in order to be accepted into the secret club. O_o your hypocritical as shit man. first its buy nice wheels then its buy something cheaper and readily available. like.. WTF. i want XD9s. all Work wheels are made to order. and take 2 to 3 months to get. 4 lug is not some crazy fucking special order only thing.. plenty of nice 4 luggers out there..

now on the other hand i can buy 5 lug hubs (450). get my front rotors redrilled or 5 lug hats(250). THEN i can buy the wheels(1900). THEN i have to buy 5 lug wheels for the track(540). TOTAL $3140.-- . for 4 lug. just buy wheels (1900) then done.. sounds cheaper to me... PLEASE tell me you get it now..

this makes so much sense... i could do this all day.

Sideways i appreciate your opinion and your input but theres a reason for everything that i do. i have thought about all of this. im not some kid that bought the cheapest wheels he could find. i dont need your help. im completely capable of doing this on my own.

Can we please stop talking about wheels...

Lets see some more building, this is what happens when people post half finished build threads on this website. Too many shit slinging opinions pop up and it's like 20 pages of the op defending all of their shitty purchases after everyone has decided to stop oooohing and aaaaahing over the expensive ones.

I don't give a shit to know you nor care how your build is going to turn out. It's a new topic I clicked on it and gave my 2 cents. Carry on the circle jerk zilvia, and good luck guy.

Nice build bro! Function over form. You can buy two sets of those wheels or two sets of good tires for the price of one set of ssr, work, bbs, ect. You get more seat time with more cash to put in your engine, unexpected expenses, event cost ect .

Getting way too defensive boss. If you building it for yourself you don't have to explain.

People don't like the XXR's, myself included. Not a big deal. Whatever floats your boat, find your lost remote.

But a for real question. If it's strictly a track car, and you are going to drift without the body kit to not mash it up, why would you buy a body kit at all? Why not stock bumpers or a cheap body kit?

Isnt this what you did? And I have been building. Cars almost done. waiting on core support and wiring. which is why i waited to post anything.

The XXRs werent a shitty decision btw.. i dont regret it one bit. i regret not building my car to your specs. its a shame.

Missed this. Figured Id clarify. Its definately not strictly a track car. I stated this in my first post. If it were, the car would be far more built. One day i suppose it would be. Not my daily but I loved the fact that this car had full interior and it was clean. One day I'll get a hair up my ass, strip it, and cage it. All the tubing for it is already in the garage.
