the s14 SR20DET has VVL, and you can get the motorset for under 3 grand. Thats what I'd do...

Ca_laurier: That white S14 now has ITB's. And you've got to be joking if you think a DE would ever make 300whp. EVER. F20/22C engines struggle to make 300whp NA and they're designed for top end horsepower.

OP: You'll have to decide if it's worth it for yourself. There are so many swap options now.

There are dyno graphs of 2.2liter VE's making 272whp that I have seen with my own eyes. I think a 2.0 250whp NA motor in our cars would be possible and feel great with VVL.

But, you're going to have to convert to coil packs and a CAS, so wiring and engine management are going to be the main challenge.

Uh, guess the jokes over then cause I've seen some 300 P/S N/A SR's used for Tsukuba Circuit. Carb'd and everything.

Not off the top of my head but I'd have to dig through some N2 set ups to find it....

DE's arn't as worthless as you might think bro.

Don't get me wrong I use to love the hell out of the DE. My 1st SR20 was a 92 SE-R and I loved the DE. Going from DE to VE gives me a different view on things. DE+T's were fun too made 319hp on my friends at 13psi

motor ran very strong on Cali pee water and Emange blue back in the day. After driving my VE around I just can't go back to a DE.
