I got pulled over because some rookie cop tried to tell me that ANY modification the exhaust was illegal. I told him to call it in to his CO and ask if what I told him was true. he then returned to me, apologized for disturbing my night, and told me to drive safely
Prove it with legal documentation, or I don't believe.

^ I do apologize for the question.

It came to my attention and I have done a lot of reaserch on this lately.
So basically modified cat-back,muffler, is NOT illegal if it is still equiped with a catalytic converter. Also, it has to be 95db(a) and under noise level.

We can can the biggest fart cannon we would like, as long as it meets these two requirements

Meh. I just a stock one back on, gives one less reason to pull me over for. I went to the chp to try and get the violations signed off regardless if it was checked non-correctable, and cop said he won't sign it even if my exhaust was under 95db cause it doesn't look stock. Dude threatened to give me a ticket for ride height because I was getting all "technical" saying the ride height was legal as long as headlights were above 22" and exhaust could be under 95db.

Saying I don't know shit and he knows more than me. FOH, wit yo high ass horse.

I agree with you on the one less reason to pull you over for.

But he's being an ass for not wanting to sign it off.
If I where you, I would print out documentation of vehicle codes for the citiation, and highlight the TWO reasons why it isn't illegal.
Prove that it's under 95db(a), and it still has a CAT.

Take that to the judge and show it, that way the judge will dismiss the infraction.
Trust me this shit works! I've been to so many court days and have witnessed people get away with some crazy shit.

Last month I was there this chick got a "text while driving ticket", the only reason she got it was cause she had her phone in her hand while driving.
Well long story short, she was able to prove to the judge that she wasn't texting! She was on her Navigation! Lol, judge dismissed charge!

There is no law against against navigation on your phone while driving!
Find the loop holes, and use them! We have our rights!

being this is my first ticket, i dont really know how it works. do i have to send money in by mail before court date and go to court on the court date? or do i just go to court on the date it says on the ticket and pay it there? i want to ask the judge if i can have the violations changed to correctable.

about the exhaust... i went to get a decibel test at the state ref and it passed at 91.5db, but i didnt have my 3rd cat lol. i honestly thought there were only 2 haha i bought the car with the exhaust on already. so i found a used stock cat, which is also illegal haha, and put entire exhaust system back to stock.

What I would do is go to court, talk to the clerk and ask to see the judge regarding the citation. They will schedule you to see the judge in a couple of days. Then that's when you speak to judge, tell him/her that the citation is supposed to be correctable, but the officer marked it as non-correctable.
The judge will grant that for you, and will ask you if you have/are going to correct the exhaust.
In California the correction once signed by a law enforcement officer, is $25.00, you pay that at the clerks office.

Just be honest with the judge, and explain your situation clearly. Judges really appreciate that.

3rd cat....? On a 240sx?

240sx only have one cat, one resonator, and muffler.
Each one of those is to lower emission, and for noise reduction.
240sx don't have 3 cat.
