DOT 5 will require you to completely flush the system. DOT 5 isn't kind to rubber. DOT 5.1 can be used though. All DOT 3 and 4 will be amber.

Valvoline Synthetic brake fluid or something like that. It's good stuff.

NAPA auto parts Heavy Duty fluid is ok, I think its DOT4 and has a reasonably high boiling point. Before that I was using Motul RBF600. Good stuff there.
Here is some Motul 5.1 at Cobalt http://www.cobaltfriction.com/produc...dProduct=54195

ATE Superblue or Typ 200 for moderate street use. Superblue is the one example of a DOT 3/4 that is not amber.

Motul RBF600 for hard street and track driving.

If you're running Autozone/Pep Boys/dealership pads, you probably don't need anything more than whatever's cheap at Autozone or Pep Boys. (Although with the cost of Axxis Ultimates or Carbotech Bobcats being what it is, there really isn't an excuse to not upgrade your stopping power.)

since your using stock brakes... any dot 3/4 should be useable. dot4 has better humidity reisitance so I'd go with one of those...

Thought id add this since since its good info, and i like to add to threads that are almost 3 years old.

Castrol SRF is the best fluid you can prob get. SRF has a Dry 590F boiling point and a Wet 518F.

The "dry" temp matters but not as much.. I bet other companies started to use the Dry number on the spec sheet because STF just made all the other fluids look bad.

Dry means there is no moisture in the system or fluid.... thats pretty much impossible. The wet is tested with up to 3% water or moister in the amount of fluid they test.
SRF has the highest WET boiling point compared to any fluid out there. The closet is Motul 600 with a wet of 420F lol . Water does get into your brake system. You DO HAVE MOISTURE in there. It enters through your seals, cap (rubber lines if you didnt replace them with stainless), if you take your cap off it enters. If your old open container sits for a month its has water in it. If you race and heat and cool your brakes the condensation increases water content etc. It really is the funking best fluid you can buy!

As little as 3% moisture contamination can reduce the boiling point of brake fluid by 25%. Manufacturers consider that, when a new car is a year old, the brake fluid could contain 2% water. After 2 years its not uncommon to find 7 or 8% water in the brake fluid.

I used the Valvoline on my last setup...

Stock calipers with Carbotech race pads and I never had problems...
Even after a 40 minute session at California Speedway's ROVAL course where you go from top speed down to second gear on every lap...

I'm not sure what my new setup will run...
