4Dr Sedan Opinions?
I'm keeping my 240 as a project (garage) rather than my daily. So I'm looking for a 4 door sedan to takes its place. I have a couple of options that I'm looking at right now. Please provide any input or experience about any of my choice (if possible):
2004-2005 Lexus IS300 2002-2004 Audi A4 2002-2004 BMW 330Ci 2005 Benz C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan Any input is appreciated. My views as of now is in favor of the IS300. Any thoughts from you guys?

IS300, and must be a manual...
I drove one for the whole summer last year (sucks it was an auto). stock everything... the stock suspension likes to roll... this is a 2003 model I think. good gas mileage on highway as long as you keep your foot steady on the throttle. 330Ci is not really a "sedan", you meant by 330i? Personally I don't like beemers... C230.... dealer likes to charge you a lot for service (wait... brand new car, then I am not sure)... The merc has some quality problems (as reference to the newest JD power report). Audi - good car, expensive to service... Edit: I hope my comments are useful.... I would be leaning toward the Is300 as well. Ron

Fuck yea! A4!!!! Love that car!!!
Here's another option (thats cheaper): a 2001 Impreza 2.5 RS (thats the next car I'm getting... that or the A4). BTW: Sedans rule.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my mom's 1996 A4. And my friend just got a 2005 B7 version. I've never been in a B6, but I'm sure its a wonderful car just like the others.
IS300 is sexy as hell too. Benz never did it for me. If I were paying money for it, I'd probably go with IS300. |

I think the IS300 is a good option as well, however, I might do some research into what Lexus plans to enter into the market next year '06. I believe Lexus is trying to compete with BMW's new 300 series and the G35.
I also got this from an '05 autoweek article: 'Good news for U.S. customers is the 3.5-liter V6 will produce upward of 300 hp and should easily propel the IS 350 from 0 to 60 mph in the low-five-second range, quicker than BMW's new 330i by nearly a second and substantially faster than the IS 300's 6.8-second time. The engines mate to six-speed manual and automatic transmissions, the automatic featuring steering wheel-mounted shift paddles. The IS 350 also gets a more performance-oriented version of VDIM, the integrated system that controls traction, stability, brakes and steering.' There is going to be an IS250, 300, 350, and IS430. I have not done much research on their permformance stats, so I might do some research into those to see what kinda specs you're looking for. These are supposed to be, at least some of them, be introduced next year sometime. The only two downsides I see about this bit of info, is the fact that you have to wait some, and well most cars have some kinks that need to be straightened out in the first year of production. Most customers complain and its fixed by the next year. Take that for what its worth. Again, I think the IS300 is a good choice, but if you have some time, the '06 models should get some consideration. |

Ok, well...
I'm not too fond of the G35, the 4Dr is ugly as hell to me. I also looked into waiting for the IS350, but I don't like the look either. Doesn't impress me too much, I like the original model better... From the feedback I see, it seems like I can narrow some down (according to this opinions and a couple comments made by locals): 2005 Lexus IS300 2002-2005 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro Any further input?

IS300 is a great car but overpriced due to high demand. I would go with a 98 GS400 cause it runs low 14's stock, handles pretty damn good for what it is, and the brakes are great. Best of all, same price as a IS300 in most cases.
If your gonna get an A4, get a last gen S4. They are going for cheap right now but I did notice prices went a little up recently for these cars. Dont even look at BMW... Im sorry, my friends repair shop is littered with them and I cant support such a unreliable car. The Benz looks awsome and I love the brakes on that thing but I havent driven or been in one. Have you looked at the Infiniti G20? I had an 02 and loved it but then got into S13's. They handle and brake great but are a little slow stock. The really cool thing is they come with an SR20DE from factory so all you need to do is turbo that ish and your good to go. Best thing is, they are dirt cheap.

Nissan Maxima VQ35: Damn powerful car, likes to turns well.
Nissan Altima QR25: Torquey, good on gas, moms new car. Nissan Altima SER-VQ35: sporty, damn powerful! didn't get to beat on it though, ok Aero tons of space for the family. And well you always have your GS,LS, G35, M45 etc... never drove those though. |

If you go the mercedes route get the previous body style C230 kompessor sport they are of much higher quality than the models produced as the next body style came out...the only year of the current body without problems is this year they finally gout the bugs out. As for bimmer i have many frineds that drive late model bmws and i have found the e36 as a very enjoyable car and the e46 as well I have seen the little detail shit go wrong on occasion but i havent seen anything serious that did not stem from neglect or improper maintainance.

that IS350 looks like a 4 door Scion TC..
sedan.. what about the TSX or TL? they both look nice, and have decent power. Not TOO expensive.. or you can be typical and get the IS/Beemer/Benz after a rice rocket.. the way gas prices are right now... i'd go accord v6 hybrid |
