Hand tight no preload on springs.

No adjustment for the springs after adjusting height using lower section of the coilover...

I'm talking about the two collars that go up and down using the spanner wrench and compress or decompress the spring. These are certainly adjustable, I was moving them up and down last night does the spring have to be compressed a certain distance from where the bottom collar sits once ride height is set.

Ride height and preload are independent of each other. You shouldn't be compressing the spring at all, just snug it up hand tight like the guy above you said and leave it.

OP, that's completely up to you. The smaller the distance is between the two locking collars, the lower the car will be. You usually find people removing the bottom AND the one below the spring perch to go lower which causes the lower mount to touch the spring perch.

Ya thats strange because my old Tanabe suspension had the bottom perch that the two 17mm bolt go through fixed (unadjustable), and the only part the adjusted ride height was two perches that moved the springs up and down.

Well, there's the difference. Some of the older models used to be adjusted via spring preload. Newer systems are independently adjusted.

Unless you plan on corner balancing the car, there's no need for you to touch the spring perch.

One more quick thing, since I have adjusted the spring perch like an idiot, should I just make sure they are the same distance on both sides and see how it rides at that height?
