Between lack of funds and motivation this has gone on hold.. for now. It will be getting a make over this winter though. I got some over fenders in trade, getting a new driver side fender, paint, dent fixes, wingless hatch, plexiglass windows, and possibly a turbo. |

If you've got any extra parts to help me out on my swap while helping you with yours let me know! Still need a wiring harness, motor mounts, and a couple 5-speed swap parts

Traded a very blown 1uz for these. Really wide, probably too wide for what i need, oh well. New LED lights, will be boxing in the light area with sheet metal and painting it blaaaack. Also will be making a "silvia" hood to cover them. Last edited by shoguner; 02-18-2015 at 11:16 AM.. |

Passenger seat is mounted. Need another harness now. Radiator mounted and fans wired/mounted. And hoses. Also got my oil pressure sensor and water temp sensor wired up. Not much left to do before driving! New fuel. Trans oil. Intake tubing. Better alignment. |

Haha yup!!
Did tons of work over the past while. Passenger seat not has a proper harness. Intake made. New shifter set up Had it running, pretty well, it idles high though. Then went to test the clutch after bleeding it. Clutch would not operate. So. I did what any sane person would do 10 days before an event, who works two jobs. Lifted the car up to scary height...... Got the transmission out. So much room for activities. I didn't want to pull the engine, being scared a wire would come undone and i wouldn't be able to figure out which wire is was (because it randomly started working one day haha). Thanks to my roommate and another friend we had that pulled out in under 30 mins. Never done it this way.... So, tonight it goes back in! Last edited by shoguner; 02-18-2015 at 11:22 AM.. |

Well,
I am pissed. I took it out to go test it out. It's misfiring pretty bad, maybe thinking its a water temp sensor. BUT it started to leak oil pretty badly from the cam seal in the front. Event is Saturday and i work this week. Don't know if i will be able to get it finished..... Last edited by shoguner; 02-18-2015 at 11:30 AM.. |

Well, if you are wondering why i didn't post much pictures of my transmission removal, this is why.
My good friend over at CAMautoMag, cam by, again, and wrote an awesome article about that night. Has some awesome content, take a look. http://camautomag.com/bad-decisions-jordans-1uz-s13/ |

Update? UPDATES!!!
First off. This happened at the event forgot to say. Astro burger loves us! New battery and mount! Made a tire rack for the garage. Replace the cam seal NO MOAR LEAKS! WOO New plug wires. I also blocked the IAC and it idles and rev's like a 1uz should VERY SMOOTH. Bought a plasma cutter SO FREAKING USEFUL! Got my LED lights wired up! New switches. New cheap gauges! Helps to have a room mate that works at checker! Other things. Got rid of the 50mm over fenders for some 30mm. Redid some wiring. Made some knuckles, extended LCA's, and relocated a rack for a friend. SO EASY WITH A PLASMA CUTTER HOLY SHIT! And then i wore miss match shoes to work. We had a 2 day event over the weekend.
THe exGF and I painted the car a pretty rad green. es it's spray paint. Next paint will be a nicer paint, but i need new front fenders, hood, bumper, doors, side skirts, and rear bumper, first. Event was awesome. SO HOT THOUGH. Car was running great. No issues really other than low fuel. Was able to get some tandem in. The S14 behind me was teaching me some tricks on tandem, left braking and such. I need to get rid of my inline and get a separate caliper. The LED lights worked great for the little bit of night time we did. It was a great weekend. UNTIL MY PS PUMP DECIDED TO DIE 30 MINS BEFORE COMP haha. Oh well. Just needs new seals. Things i need to do before next event. PS pump . Fix temp gauge. Paint interior grey Paint cage install another door bar Build cool suit Fuel cell Fix kill switch Here is an album of my car https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...1&l=2e98bc2292 Here is and album with everyone https://www.flickr.com/photos/flapat...7645632888696/ Oh yea. HDR makes everything look so cool. Last edited by shoguner; 02-18-2015 at 11:44 AM.. |

I did some things.
Fuel cell install. Apparently these plastic cells are tapered. So brackets will be underneath. Using cardboard is fun! Going to be making a box so i don't have to build a whole fire wall. Got the idea from the DIY autotune land speed car! I have been toying with some ideas for a hydro. This car is strictly a drift car never sees the street or any other kind of event. So Instead of having a separate caliper i am going to unhook the rear brakes from the system and install them into a hydro handle. While im doing that i am going to be doing a brake booster delete, upgraded master, and upgrading to z32/r32 front brakes. I have a few people saying this should work pretty well. While drifting if I am left braking, having the rear brakes doing anything is just going to be holding me back a tiny bit. So i am curious to see how well this works. If not what i do is totally reversible. Last edited by shoguner; 02-18-2015 at 11:49 AM.. |

would be an interesting set up, with the rear brakes disengaged under normal track day situations of heavy braking the cars tail would/should come out from under you, but as a drift car you can use the hydro ebrak to correct that
I opted for 07 sti brembo's front and rear on the car's mainline system with a brake booster, and bought maximum motorsports dual rear caliper assembly and ran the stock rear as my hydro' ebrake caliper. bit more expensive but the car isnt just a drift whore, she's my toy and i want to be able to track her

I checked with Max, and they said their hydro is designed for z32 rear brakes. So that is why it's not locking. Im just going to do z32 all the way around and use BB delete and get a better master. I didn't know MM had 240sx stuff, do you have a a link to that? I need to update this. i finished my fuel cell. Also my car caught on fire haha. (two unrelated) |

So,
Finished the fuel cell. Grandpa helped me make a box. [URL=http://s169.photobucket.com/user/shoguner91/media/16706_10152348437666365_6282430073975251923_n_zpsh srlzhdl.jpg.html] Ah so nice. Also, Found out my PS pump was, i changed it anyway though. It was my hose that melted and leaked everywhere, It was super rad. So, ordered Earl's fittings HP steering hose. very nice, I was able to route it under the engine and away from the headers. We then went to idaho for a 2 day event. Love this track. I headed up with FD driver Brandon wicknick and FD licence holder Mike fulkerson. (you will see them driving in the video. Mike was in a 250ish hp Ka-t). We showed up late about 5 haha. Had a blast though. Had a few problems with some wiring being loose. Then running out of fuel. Then my fuel filter being clogged. Fixed all those issues. Car was running PERFECT, faster than it ever has been. Then my friend and I were drifting when he spoted a fire near his feet (he could see it through a hole in the fire wall, which i need to patch haha. I think it was a rubber hose that melted and caught fire, but now, I am thinking it might of been part of the power steering hose that caught fire. Anyway, that melted the fuel line which fed the fire. I was able to get it out in time. Thank fully i had a fire extinguisher in my car. DO NOT EVER DRIFT WITHOUT ONE!!!! Minimal damage. Fuel lines and some wires, main harness appears to be fine. Anway, Here is a video made by Hector, cheggit. Im in there a few times, you can hear the cutting in and out from the wiring. Also the fire haha. (yes that is brandon wicknick) I lefted my gopro home, or i would of gotten some video. Here is a local guy that had a website devoted to cars. Go cheg out his site. http://camautomag.com/boise-drift-day-1/ http://camautomag.com/boise-drift-day-2/ Also, we had a local event last weekend. So here is a shameless plug of my video. Well. That is all for awhile. We have another idaho event here soon. I will be going to it. Hopfully will get some videoing. Last edited by shoguner; 02-18-2015 at 01:13 PM.. |
