CA I am having problems with throttle cable on s13 sr20

Okay i have a 89 240sx it had a single cam motor with a messed up stripped sohc throttle cable, recently i droped in an sr20det and decided to change the cable since the sohc tcable was all messed up, so i went and bought a dohc throttle cable installed it and it sure looked long enough but once i installed, it was holding the throttle in a open possition about 50 percent, my question is could i have had installed it wrong? I have the 2 num 10 bolts all the way so the cable it self can have enough slack,
do i need a different cable or what the hell i am frustrated i live in hawthorne california and i would appreciate some help
i just dont want to tow my car for just a tcable to a shop and then pay about $150 on top of that, thank you your help is greatly appreciated i know it might be an easy fix.i just cant think at the moment 3105905951 located by lax i will pay somebody to come and fix it.

hey my cable doesnt quite fit right ether, but mine is rigged, i put the bolts together and shoved them into the rubber holder. make sure you cant adj and further out. you should try taking the nuts all the way to the end thenput the cable in place then tighten them, kinda hard to explain, could you post some pics?

you have to make a bracket in order to use the dohc cable. thats how ive seen many guys do it. to make things easier, id say just go with a sohc cable. just bolts right up
