Any MF Doom fans out there?
Just checking to see if anyone else is in agreement that the Metalface Villian is in the top 3 (no. 1 for me) of all-time greatest lyricists that have ever breathed on this planet we call earth!!!

I know top 3 is a stretch for some, but if you listen to Doom's wordplay, the way he connects analogies, the alliteration...I guess I should clarify. I'm not talking about content so much, because some of his ryhmes are kinda out there. But the flow is ridiclous. Deliverywise, Doom is up there in the top 3! And with Madlib's beats especially, he is unstoppable! Just 1 humble man's opinion tho!

I think his uniqueness is his best quality. Im sick of the cookie cutter, club banger, bling-rap that is on the radio nowadays. Dont get me wrong it has its place....in da club! Doom is doin it for the forgotten art of true Hip-Hop. Not for dough...for the love of the art.

Id def. say that hes top 3 for me too, but his beats > his lyrics IMO
All of his stuff is sooo good. KMD, Doom, Madvillian, MetalFingers, King Geedorah, Monster Island Czars, Viktor Vaughn...

Special Herbs and Spices is one of my favorite series of albums. He is nice on the beats as well. I picked up the special edition in Japan with all of the volumes plus 10 KMD instrumentals. Even tho the track listing is off, I still love it. Refreshing indeed.

yea i don't know about top three but doom is definitely one of the best producers and he's got a unique flow and crazy word play.
i have a friend who saw him on new years eve though and she said he was really bad live. i don't what to think about that.. i read that he had live lip syncing and imposter doom's performing at events. supposedly those were marketing ploys for his new album for 08.

He's unique at least, but definitely not top 3. His delivery is kind of monotone, but it works for him. Impostors at shows is laaame though. Rap shows are already bad enough, if the actual MC doesn't even show up, what a waste.

+1 for real hip hop, MF Doom has some good lyricist skills, I can't listen much cause sometimes his voice bugs me, sounds like hes spittin all over everything. I loved the stuff he did with DJ Krush.

used to be a bigger fan, now not so much. dudes gotten way too lazy and hasnt released ANYTHING for soooo long (other than mm food re release but that doesnt really count). Id put him high on a list of mcs though, it sounds like he is spitting all really random but every single really crazy idea in most songs are linked together by an amazing common thread. O yeah and he was fucking amazing live, with one be lo and mackelmore opening for him oooo shit son one of the greatest shows ever.
