As far as finishing in the charts in ST2 we ended the races in 1st place for the first 4 races, Cali Speedway & Big Willow. At Cali Speedway we got lapped once in the race by Johnny Pag's Challenge Stradale but he lost a water pump so we ended up winning . We also had help with the American Iron guys as they slowed down everyone else. lol. Then came the enduro's...after that we packed it in not even half way through the season. 07 was rough for us so I'm crossing my fingers for 08. -Jon

Don't worry... I'll document it all...
I spoke to the motel owner over here and she said that she could give us a discount if we get a couple of rooms next time... $25-30 for the night is what I'm expecting... Screw waking up at 4AM...

It was nice meeting some of the Zilvia gang. I got to ride in SteveShadow's 400whp S13 and it was definitely a handful on the track. Nit was doing pretty good in Advance group today. Nice seeing you again Steve (Corner3) - who installed my ORC clutch 30k+ ago and still running strong.
Sorry to say but I think this is my last STUSA event - no timing, car to car contact, and few drivers who didn't belong in advance group. |

yeh the car to car contact was very sad. otherwise a great day.
alot of the 240's in our group were spinning out all over the place. so i guess they should stick to drifting! jk great day i had a blast nice meeting you all and see you next event

Yeah great time.
I started getting sharper by the very last session, then on the last lap the track temps dropped pretty substantially (easily noticed with as much HP as I have). Car delivered a little short for me on brakes and rear tire set up. I will be fixing that along with some stiffer engine mounts and fresh subframe bushings, then It should be ready to rip again. I enjoyed passing all of you on the straights in intermediate group too haha big drag car love Quote:
Also thanks for the brake pad advice I will look into those ( x-force? ) and compare them to Porterfields. The Hawks were garbage for my HP level.

had a damn lots of fun 1st session for me was a lil disheartening but started to pick it up after a couple ride alongs and driving adjustments. I got a long way to go. I need to dial in my suspension a lil other than that i had a blast.
Last session when it was getting cooler first lap i was braking looked behind me and saw my tires smokin. It got cold quick. The car to car contact really sucked especially since the guy was in our group. |

I'm running Carbotech XP10 (front) and XP8 (rear). I'm surprised how much pad life you get out of them along with low rotor wear. I've had these pads for at least 5 events now and they're still good. If you need to locate Carbotechs, give Evasive Motorsports a call - ask for Mike or Justin. |

I was in "Fast_Intermediate" and there were a few drivers with considerable horsepower that needed to be kicked down into beginner. Sloppy lines, brake checking at random, not paying attention to the corner workers, etc . . . Its been awhile since i ran with STUSA and at first i thought it was going to be a great change. Get out and drive and not have constant download sessions. But most of the drivers at this event were clearly not skilled enough to be out on their own. /Rant It was great to meet you guys, and I look forward to a season with a few more S-chassis out there. Was getting tired of being one of the few/only ones out there. And i was glad to see Steve & Nit team up - Steve with his HP MONSTER and Nit with his (fastest sounding KA ) Fully built suspension. You two need to co-op and build one perfect S13 |

I ran streets as my first track event with stusa it was pretty fun, This buttonwillow event seemed a bit chaotic. There were lots of cars out there and since there were not really any passing rules it felt like a free for all out there. Driving around the track and seeing all the dust clouds it felt like i was in the burning oil fields of iraq. I do admit i had a couple of track excursions but the main thing i wasnt liking was the fact of so many cars i felt the corner workers were a bit passive and in intermediate there were a lot of guys pressuring but not really knowing when or where to pass. It was a freight train of cars running wild. I had fun nonetheless.

Could agree with YOU more. And it apparently hasnt changed much. STUSA was were i got my start as well. Come to think of it, if Sam & Jon (SNC240SX / ZodiacSR) do show at NASA, i believe you guys are the only other S-chassis out there with me I flew the NASA banner yesterday and think i might have persuaded Steve to come to the dark side and join us. And im hoping this group of grippers also gets into it as well. You cant beat the organization, skill, and lessons at NASA. Not to mention the variety of race groups and TT are great to compete and watch. |

There are more guys now with s-chasis in ST2 but they're out of state, but some are claiming they're going to show up to the season opener @ Cali Speedway and own it . Who's with me? lol. -Jon

I had fun and it was very nice meeting all of you... We had about a dozen s-chassis cars out there, much more than the other events I have been to...
Quote:
The instructors were great (and free!) and helped me out a lot... I've got video to show his instruction and a couple of laps when he drove my S13 around the track for a couple of laps... I think STUSA is good if you've never been to the track but there are better options if you have a couple track days under you (or are just a competitive person)... Quote:
As much as Steve calls his car a "drag car"... I think it can be a ton of fun to learn on... Just need to invest in some springs... For the wastegate that is... Or I've heard of some type of boost control ECU function where the ECU can determine what gear you are in and can increase boost in the higher gears... So when the ECU knows you are in 4th gear, it'll give an extra 10 pounds of passing power... My S13 was running great and I felt pretty comfortable on the course... Got some great feedback from the instructor also... I would kill myself if I had Steve's motor in my car... But I'd go out with a smile on my face... Quote:

Good meeting you and thanks for taking so much time in documenting all of us, Nit! Can't wait to get more pics from yesterdays event. And yeah, I don't know about going with STUSA again. Yesterday was so frightening when I could see so many possible catastrophic accidents waiting to happen..along with one that did happen. Way too many cars and idiotic drivers out on the track at the same time to be anywhere near safe.

i didnt know there was a fast or slow intermediate group? which was which.
i was being passed by everyone cuz i dont push as hard as everyone else. im just out there trying to run proper lines and not kill myself. but being slow is not a problem there were many places to pass. but the asshole impatient people passing mid turn stealing my line are the kind of people that cause problems. and i really didnt like that. i let people pass me all the time and they did it safely. but some people were just flat out assholes. yo pictures http://picasaweb.google.com/sgharibian/ButtonWillow mostly of me obviously but alot of others

No... they are stock... He is running Bridgestone RE01-R 245-40-17 tires all around...
Daryl's black S2000 with the white wheels is running Nitto NT01 255-40-17 tires and his fronts are pulled a little while the rears are just rolled... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Siikc88eMIo[/ame] And here is a very short video where you can see Steve (Shadows) leaving the pregrid... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QkL-5G-ybM[/ame]

In do time. Workin my way through HPDE3. Seem to have impressed "Mad Dog Mike" and so maybe ill have a shot at 4/TT this season. I do appreciate the fact that NASA does such a thorough screening of all HPDE 3 to 4 applicants. Its no Joke out there btw Jon. Total trip that i spoke to you and Ian at a track event WSIR and hadnt the slightest clue you were on Zilvia Short Vid Clip of i think 1st session out there on Sunday: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTTYtzzizbE[/ame] |
