Package did get there on time (even a few days early), and in good condition though. DHL has been reliable to me and the co. I work for the most part. This might be the worst case scenario for reference. If anyone knows cheaper, Id like to know too. |

UPS tops out at 150lbs...
freightquote.com is an easy way for someone to ship something pallete freight. Go terminal to terminal. Unless you've got a corporate address and a way to load a semi. loading docks/forklift. Also you'll need to call and see what class USED transmission is. Should be class 85. Or atleast used engine is class 85. DHL and put it in a plastic bin from wallmart is probably the best. or greyhound.

Where in NC?
Where in TN? Have you considered the cost of transportation to meet halfway?

What the hell man? This thread is 5 years old.
I know how to do it, don't. Why buy a motor from NJ if you live in cali... stupid.

Try UPS LTL freight or maybe have a freight company or two bid on the shipment. LTL is still pretty expensive based on weight and dimensions... But you may get lucky putting a freight bid out.
Put the stuff on as small of a pallet as possible & hope for the best- it isn't cheap though. Shipping my Z32 tranny LTL from Philly to St Louis was about $350... However, Zfever shipped my second one to me for $75 by putting the shipping cost up for bid. I have no idea how to do this myself... but Wolf's post above seems easy enough. Other than that- buy local as stated above

DHL Freight forwarding. Its available in all cities. I use this for most of my body kits shipped and people there know how to handle large/heavy items.
The range should be $300-400. The motor should be on a pallet and strapped down tightly. The fee should cover lift gate service, pallet jack service, pick up fee, residential drop off. Funny how newbs either make threads without looking or they dig up 5 year old threads.. either way we get pissed off at them |

i would never trust some noob schmuck in NJ to know how to properly strap a motor down to a pallet let alone a transmission for safe shipping. if its too good to be true, well its is...
