Definatly happens in Richmond, happened when I was running mine up and down the street with no helmet/ tail light in the beginning of a rain storm trying to tune the old motor.

I did some research upon this i plan on getting one in July or sooner and will post updates of what i do whether VRT or here. All projects are on hold till further notice. Im on operation "Pimp the Ruckus." Driving 90 miles a day plus whatever weekend travels i do on 91 has gotten over the top. Alot of places are sold out(Ruckus) but i found a place thats getting a shipment this Wednesday. Woot Woot! A dealership said to look around out of state if your intrested. All the places i called didnt have a eta.

I rode a ruckus this weekend. It was pretty cool. I have never rode a motorcycle or any of that stuff before. The owner is selling it, I may buy it if $$$ allows. It sucks that there will be no more new ones for sale until the 09 model(all sold out, from what I have read).
If I buy it, custom paint will happen this winter. lolz!

Yeah, I'm plotting on moving closer to work (trimming 30mi round trip off my commute) and getting a ruckus for the commute when the weather allows. I'd say anything under 2k used (since thats what they go for new) -- work back from there based on condition.

I'm going to commute on mine the rest of this week (80 and sunny in DC).
It's like 20 miles each way, so a total of about 120 miles the rest of the week. Tank is empty now, so if I refill tomorrow morning, I can get 140 miles out of it before I fill again. It'll cost about $5 to fill it, lol. I love my Ruckus. It's so much fun to commute on. Whenever there's traffic, I just go up on the sidewalk or a bike path and blow right by all the cars. It's even better than splitting lanes. It takes a car about 1-1.5 hrs to do my commute in rush hour, Ruckus will do it in 40 mins.

everyone is getting scooters these days. Scooters sales are up 40%. i just bought one myself for 300. And it does pay itself off real quick. $6 for full tank of gas which lasts me almost a month.

Which 250? I'd MUCH rather have a Reflex 250 than a Ruckus, they're NICE bikes. I like the Helix too, but I'm generally in the minority there. I'm not sure I'd get an Elite 250....as if I'm going to go to the hassle of getting a motorcycle license, I'd just get the Reflex.

I'd assume these things fall under the 50cc road legal thing. I'd rock the piss out of one of these if that's the case.

Looks like mine is coming in mid July. All the metallic gray's are taken...I'm gonna see if I like the red that's coming out and decide whether to get that when I see it or wait for next shipment of metallics...

i think i'm deciding against a ruckus and going with a full blown motorcycle instead. the Honda Rebel is 234cc, gets something like 80mpg, insurance for me would be about 200 a year, and... look how cool.
oh, and they start at a little over 3k.

What do you guys think about the Yamaha TW200?
http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/pr...0/0/specs.aspx I'm strongly considering a bike. I'm not too keen on getting a scooter. Not an expert on any of this stuff...still doing research. I was looking at the Honda Rebel and Kawasaki Eliminator as well. Hey look post #666. |

just some shots of the ruckus *NOT RECENT* doing a few wheelies so since i bought it, i have painted it from. baby blue, to a greenish blue with hella flake, to flat black, to "volvo ebony chestnut metallic"(brown) im looking for TEAL. like. project mu teal.if anyone has a color code for it. id appreciate it . and ps. if you guys were wondering:: Canon 10D and most of these were with a 20-35mm lens along with a Vivitar 285hv and Canon 550EX set off with radio slaves. so i have this done to the honda ruckus: KN variator 6gram weights posh CDI NGK spark plug (i have a new NGK racing wire)*not installed* custom intake made with K&N crankcase airfilters*not installed* polished drive cover all rad lines changed to high temp clear hoses audi premium red rad fluid lol. took the side mirrors off tail relocation, LED turn signal deleted new michilen "bopper"performance tires. changed the oil i just talked to mike at TF, once they have their new STANCE COILOVER for the ruckus, ill def have that on there. haha. ill be picking up the lower seat, and fabbing up a few aparts. |
