Heads Up on PayPal Scams...Watch out!

I keep getting e-mails about my PayPal account being "limited."

They request a whole shit load of information about your account (obviously suspicious), but it's really tricky cause if you click on the link to fill in your information, whoever made this shit up has the page in PayPal format. trcki tricky bastards...

I almost did it, without thinking, cuz the PayPal format is identical...don't b fooled. If you remember your PayPal user information/rules, they will never request private information like that via e-mail...

just wanna give the heads up for any1 that has come across these PayPal Limited Account E-Mails...

yeah, Ive gotten "ebay emails" about the same type of thing....so be wary of crap like that....get in touch with paypal or ebay before you fill out shit like that, they will investigate it too.

One other thing i saw somewhere a while back, was that if you get emails like that and if you click the links to the sites, make sure that the little padlock is present at the bottom of the page to let you know that it's a secure site. Otherwise it's a dead giveaway of a fake site cause both ebay and paypal have secure sign-in pages.

it could very well be paypal though. what they mean by they don't request it through email, at least my understanding, is that they don't ask you to email the information back and shit. do like everybody else said and check the secure shit, as well as look where the actual page is. if its a paypal address like www.paypal.com/lksgasjklg/adg.gth or whatever then its probably really from paypal.

ive reported a few of these. they almost got me the first time, until i noticed they wanted my mothers maiden name and ATM pin number. one thing to look for is paypal always sends mail to your name, the fakes tend to be to "paypal customer"

if you report them paypal will usually email you back in a few days confirming it was not them.

yeah its usually best to call about this shit. and its funny. if you call paypals toll free number but do 1-800 instead of 1-866 like paypal is they have a nice recording when you ask for Paypal.
