Video: First Start-Up/Test Run of My Built SR20DET
Well, I finally got the motor started up and even took it on a test drive (see video below). The solid lifters are still pretty noisy, but not as bad as they used to be. If anyone else has personal experience with solid lifters, please let me know if mine sound about right or if they are extremely more noisy. This is the only SR that I've been around that has them, so I honestly don't know. They still sound a little too loud IMO....

Nice vid, lifters do seem a little loud as you can hear them tapping even faster when revs are brought up.
Did you buy the Tomei shim test kit? What oil are you running?

Thanks, I found out on Tuesday that when i originally ordered my solid lifter cams in 2009, I was shipped hydraulic lifter cams. So that's causing the excessive noise. I have since stopped running the motor (only have 8 miles on it), and I'm waiting on a new set of cams I ordered Tuesday night. I'm running Rotella 15w40 atm.
