Fuel system return lines
Please help me understand the fuel system return line for my 95 S14 swap? I know dudewutup got his fuel rail return adapter from ebay but which one?
Also, let me know if I have this correct: Do I run the incoming fuel line from the pump through an inline fuel filter and then directly to the metal incoming fuel line so it pressurizes both fuel rails. Then install the return line adapter to the rail and run a line to the fuel pressure regulator on the return line so it will monitor the pressure in the rails at whatever the regulator is set at? S14 VQ swap
Apparently there is a problem with my ECM. On the front, painted in yellow are these words: No ECM relay ground, pin 111.
I have been advised to look for another one and scrap this one. Anyone have an opinion? Is this one possibly repairable or is he correct and I should scrap it? Do I absolutely need one from a 6 spd car or does that matter? I think I remember Doug from Zfever telling me a year ago that it isn't neccesary to use a manual ECM. Anybody have a good one for a reasonable price? |

Wait a sec. . . did I just read that right? You're in Mcbee? For those of you not familiar with the South it's not pronounced the way it reads. Mcbee is pronounced "MAC-B". I lived in Florence for 3 years when I worked at McLeod Regional Medical Center so I can say I've heard of MAC-B but never had a reason to go there. Glad to see there's someone in that area not driving a 4x4 truck with a browning sticker on the back of it, God knows there's a million already.

I took the cover off and there is a burnt spot so I suspect it's toast.
I know nothing about putting it on a bench and testing it. Didn't know that could be done. Even if this one is junk, I may want to test the one I get to replace it. How is it done? Question 2. If my engine is an 03, will an 04 6 spd ECU work or does the year have to match. I've know the 06 ECU won't work with the earlier motors. |

You can look at my first post to see the rough list it may be a day or two but im working on a super list with exact places to get stuff and im working with someone to get some custom solid mounts made up! (Can you say group buy!)
I have to make some calls but a master let with contacts will be made and added to my first post sent from my cell phone. its a old beat up one held together with rubber bands. im ghetto...

My fight was the throttle body hit the firewall so i had to bash it in to make room. So far i am the only one i know of that has had this problem. Also, my hood didnt clear when everyone elses has so far. these issues are probably related... Mckinney says that every chassis can very a half inch one way or the other, which is why i probably had these issues. Dudewutup, have you fit your hood yet? or did you have any of these issues at all? |

I'm in NC now, Greensboro area. I grew up in NC, and the time I spent in SC wasn't meant to be long term so when I found a better job, I took it! If you ever have any questions about having fab work done in the Pee Dee area lmk, I used one welding shop in Florence and was very happy with the work they did. Oh, and nice project! Can't wait to see it done! |

Don't think the kit was designed to have the cosworth manifold on it. The only way to fix it would be to make new mounts that move the motor forward more.

As far as intake and throttle body fit goes I had to swap my mounts on the engine to bring the engine more forward

You mean you had the left mount on the right side of the engine? then you put the right mount on the right side?

I cant move my engine any farther forward. the oil pan is 1/8 an inch from the sway bar. i had to bash in the firewall more than 1/2 inch so moving forward that 1/8th would do nothing for me. the plastic panel hides all the nasty hammer work so im not worried about it.

I know this is a dumb idea but might work but what about hood spacers on the rear of the hood, it might clear it with those even though they probably are considered gay

[QUOTE=Yellow4g63;4431577]Did you Shoot them a email? they usally want to fix any problem they can.
i did e mail them, also for the race headers but i did not get the information that i needed! maybe the problem is that i'm having a s14 and they did make the mounts on a s13 halfcut because the s13 has a different (water box???) firewall. than the s14 s13=flat from left to right and s14 ihas a bump in the middle for the wiper. indeed when i put a 2cm (+/- 1ich) spacer it will fit. a'm looking at a d-max bonnet to modify because it is higher at the end. maybe it's a good idee hope you got other idee's i need a different look on it regards rik |
