But I'd be able to hear a leak that was big enough to mess up my AFRs by that much..

FPR checked out fine... So did MAFs..

My intercooler.. the endtank.. was spitting out air.. WTF mate?!
All gravvy 'cuz I'ma have it welded on Saturday for free.99
So.. yah..

I'm surprised that it affected my AFRs so much.
Can anyone explain to me how VACUUM leaks from a hole? Why wouldn't more air be sucked in since.. it IS in vacuum?

It doesn't just go to rich at idle and the numbers are higher than before... but while driving my AFRs do still hit 10s.. and I see rich once in a while..

I'll see what happens after I have the IC re-welded.

that tune of mine you have been running I definitely set pretty rich, but not THAT rich... Glad to hear it was just a boost leak, pretty simple to fix...did you weld the endtanks on a core or was it just a bad weld from the mfg of the intercooler?

I bought the core with the end tanks welded on. I think it was just a sloppy job that I boosted a hole through over time.

Yah, dyno tuning is coming up next month... hehe

2 things usially can cause this -

1.MAF. put ur hand over it when the car runs. does it keep running? its bad. if it stalls it might not be the maf.

2.your CAS. is the bolt loose? if yes reset the timing.

Don't worry that the AFR is still high in fuel the ecu has to calibrate for the first few miles (100~300 miles) in order to calibrate knock, RPM, ignition, and fuel settings. It sould drop lower as you drive but you should just drive the car economically and conservatively at low throttle until the proper calibration has been set. You should also clean the wideband O2 sensor with carb cleaner or mineral spirits there might be alot of hydro carbon build up from richness and can throw off the signal. Once the engine is calibrated you should switch back to the narrow band NGK O2 sensor, much more reliable and they give a great signal upto 15,000miles, (compared to a 7000miles of a good signal on wideband)
I hear more complaints from intercooler leaking, that it is the most common problem in loss of manifold pressure.
The 1 reason why this happens is when you get trucks or big rigs in front of you larger than normal tires will fling alot of rocks around the bumper area. I notice that you don't have a screen or grill in front of the intercooler, maybe something that you should think about so you don't run into this problem again.

Vin: in this case its a crappy weld that is leaking. Though road damage is definetly visible on his IC.
Fishing under the GG bridge and getting crunky doesn't sound like being "stuck" to me! That sounds like good times.
Can't make it to Reno mang, I have plans already that weekend. Next time.
