FAt Engine Problems

alrightyyyy... so i am new tot he site. Looking forward to getting my 240 goin.
So pickd i picked up my s14 about 6 months ago... Its had an engine light on for a while. It would rarly die on me no reason sometimes.
But nowwwww its gotten worse.
Started to throw codes.
The codes i got was for the evap valve.
The car runs fine when cold. when it gets really warm is when it acts up.
Its bogs out when I apply gas but at higher speeds its alright when im just cruizn. When i pound on it she bogs out and the tach goes crazy. When i come to a stop i have rev it up a bit so she doesnt die. It used to be worse. To really get down to it i replaced the distributer, maf, rear o2 sensor, new k&n air filter, spark plugs, and new plug wires. after i replaced all that the car ran a lot smoother and i got insanly better gas but it still bogs out when its warm. has 130xxx miles on it. There is a low ticking sound coming from front of motor. i believe its either the timing chain or tensiors. But honeslty i dont think that problem being fixed when get rid of my current one. Could it possibly be a vacum leak? I have no idea how to check for vacum leaks or nor what to look at or what to buy. if someone could please help me out. anything can help!!

Ghetto way to check for vacuum leaks is to turn the car on and let it idle then spray contact/brake cleaner in the areas u think are leaking. When the idle drops down then u have found your leak. The legit way is to use a machine that will detect the leaks but they are $$$$$$
