Red face 1983 280zx turbo bogging/hesitation

*COPIED FROM MY POST ON ZCAR MAYBE YOU GUYS COULD HELP ME ASWELL

okay well im buying my neighbors 280zx thats been sitting 10 years and it starts right up and idles fine, but its hesitant when u give it throttle and bogs, sometimes it backfires sounding like its coming from the front of the car. Ive replaced oil and filter, fuel filter, ngk wires and plugs. my neighbor said the AFM was replaced and from what ive read people say that is majority of the time what is making it run like this. anyways if anyone can help me with what i should look for/check would be great.

ive also put in 5 gallons of 91 with some octane booster for the old gas, old gas actually wasnt that bad, you could tell it aged but it wasnt distgusting like i expected
Also the battery in the car is junk, it holds a charge to power the fuel pump and lights and stuff in the car but not enough to start, so i just hook it up to a charger to start it, could a bad battery be causing this?
