loud whining / buzzing sound from rear only on deceleration
Hey guys. I'm need help trying to diagnose this loud whining / buzzing sound from my rear end that only seems to happen when I decel.
Now this only started happening after I: -installed PSM solid aluminum subframe bushings -installed SPL solid alum diff bushings (using J30 differential) -replaced diff oil with 75w-90 Redline oil (iirc, 80w-90 was factory recommendation) at first, I thought yeah, maybe because its all solid, its supposed to sound like that, but as I kept reading other people's posts about their sold bushing installation, none were complaining about the same noise I'm having. any positive input is appreciated. thanks my car is an s13 by the way

Solid bushings without a doubt are going to magnify any transmission/drive line noise the car has. The only thing you will be able to do to change it is put non solid bushings in. Depending on how many miles are on your transmission, You could replace it and possibly help the noise. I just swapped transmission in one of my s13's and the deceleration whine is much less than before.
I recently put in whiteline subframe bushings and they made my drive line noise much worse. they aren't even solid.
