I was out at the local saturday night street racing and car show strip here in Houston. Sitting at a stop light this guy in a brand new acura RSX sitting next to me starts yelling out the window about my piece of shit, slow car. I just kinda shook my head at him. To be honest i was kinda intimidated, i heard the type-s was no wimp, about 200hp, 6-speed. light turns green and we take off, bad launch for me so he gets more than a car length right away. to my surprise i'm gaining on him, after 2nd we were even, after 3rd, i had a full car on him. now doing nearly 90mph i decided that that was enough to shut the guy up and let off the gas.
Sure enough, next light he had his windows up and drove away in a civilized manner..... DJ |

Are you sure it was a type-S? I think they're a low 15 sec car stock. Or maybe the guy just couldn't drive. The 240 should be able to take the base model RSX, though.

He was just some jackass who couldn't drive that thought he could beat anything in his new car. They're supposed to be a few tenths faster than the last Type-R. Congrats on the kill anyway.;)

Oops, my mistake. I haven't really been paying too much attention beyond the obvious to the Honda market. I should definitely look over the stats sometime soon.

i draged a new rsx(not s-type)... i beat it senseless... just like i would a dodge neon. another defeat accomplished. so far, i've beaten ever car thats raced me in town. i've lacked to race the pimped out civic. the word is it has nitrous and a superchager...but i'm not going to worry about that.

The base RSX is probably as fast as the LS Integra.
But another thing to consider...these people are probably trying to race during their car's break in period. Those cars a pretty new and I doubt many have put over 5K-10K on the car to get the motor broken in. I figure after 10K miles, they'll be a few tenths faster than they were brand new. On a side note...I just toasted a chick in a Sunfire :cheesy::biggrin: |

actually, these people that are racing there cars during the break in period are not to good for their engines. So by the time the motor is "broke in" it will either be broke or it will already be running like shit. i know a few people that have done this to integras and civics....

I believe the RSX is governed just like most cars over the year 1996 or somthing.
Anywho, I denied a RSX w/my old 93' hback about 2 weeks ago. Now I have departed my ol' honda and now in the market for a 240sx |

Hey mike240sx, dont feel bad. My friend beat me in his Grandmas Cadillac. Course it was a 32Valve Northstar V8 so it was twice my engine but it is still kinda embarassing I had it off the line but man it flew by me.

I'd like to have a 400RWHP automatic... I'll stick to my manual for now. ( I got beat by a caddy once. Boats can be fast.)

well that guy couldnt drive for shit!!! theyre about a tenth of a second slower than the typer of 96-2000. 1/4 in 15.3 and 0-60 in 6.7 sec. exactly a tenth of a second slower on both. its got about the same power but its 200lbs heavier.

oh by the way base rsx has 160hp so it will make a base integra cry (ok a little exageration there) the type r civic is gonna have the base rsx engine and yes the type s is available with a 5-speed auto but the six is standard on the type s only. theyre also gonna bring a type R rsx and its gonna have 220hp (not bad) its looks mean so id whatch out but not for another 2yrs scince they wont bring em over till then

People with fast cars often forget that they have to learn how to drive them first, yesterday I beat some rich loser teenager in a Porsche Boxster with my Maxima
And Caddys are no jokes, the STS can pull 6.5-6.8 0-60s and probably do pretty decent 1/4s |
