well. if you read the first post it's merely a statement. There is no question. So maybe we shouldn't even be trying to answer a statement.

the story is an analogy. the actor is not a real actor, the movies are not real movies, the studio is not a real studio, the government is sorta a real government...but not one that you'd call a government..
heres's a hint: we're all studios, but most of us haven't brought actors out of retirement for one that movie that causes the government to execute them. it's usually newer studios who don't know what's going on who do that. |

Oooooh! Newbies revive old threads, since they don't know any better, and then the moderators lock the thread!
The actor (threadstarter) had a pretty good thread awhile back. Then it died down and then another actor (newbie) revives it and then the government (mods) execute (lock) it. Am I right? |

I'll re-write what I said.
There was an actor (threadstarter). Everyone liked his movies (thread). The movie (thread) got old, and he retired (people stopped posting in it). 20 years later (a few months, or years later after the thread started), a new studio (newbie) asked the actor to come out of retirement (newbie posted in the old thread). The government executed (pinked, banned, neg-repped, flamed) the actor (newbie) immediately. |

Somehow this was confusing, yet enlightening at the same time.
I'm torn between a WTH and Thank you. Should there be something others should be concerned with? edit: after doing some research, I can feel the heat coming from O.T. Though I know none of you, I finally got it (it's Monday, ok?). Prolly not my business to ask why so much drama going on. Welp, enjoying your ranting.

Going off of what has been laid out above, I think "The actor" is the thread itself. New Studio (newb) brings an old, but good thread back from retirement. The thread gets a few posts, which brings a little bit of attention to it, but nothing substantial. Then a mod notices that there is a huge gap in the post dates, and closes the thread, regardless of how good it may be?
how's that? cheers, C |
