SR20 boost building questions
I finally got everything solid and working 100% but I have a question as far as building boost. I have an S14 SR and it currently hits 7psi and then gets to 10-11psi once I get to 5k RPM. Is this normal? I'd like to hit 10psi sooner (it was getting 10psi at 2.5-3k RPMs, but turns out I had a huge boost leak and after fixing the leak it rocketed to 15psi lol whoops). Current setup is:
S14 SR w/ stock MAF and ECU S14 T28 Hallman Pro RX boost controller PBM HMIC PBM turbo inlet w/ Perrin filter Moonface DP to catless 3" straight My spool is VERY quick to 6-7psi (wastegate pressure) but takes a bit to gain more. Should I fiddle with the boost controlled a bit or is there something I'm missing? |

sounds like a boost leak. 5k to hit max boost on stock turbo is way too late. There's gonna be some lag for sure but its going to build without such a jump.

Well, I went ahead and fiddled with the boost controller (a couple more full turns) and now it boosts straight to 10psi like it was and stays there the whole time... But why in the fuck was my shit creeping to 10 before? lol
