Backpack for Steering Wheel
I will be getting my aftermarket steering this week. So, I am in search of a backpack so that I can strap the steering wheel onto it when I am not in the car. Any one know of any good ones. I was looking at this one by Oakley:
Thanks!

Why do you need to show that you have a detachable steering wheel?
Shit will only get you clowned on and nobody will think you're cool. Put the shit in your backpack. Or even better yet, put a QR lock on your car and leave the shit inside.

Honestly I thought I was the shit when I first did that. All it does is make you get clowned on as well as brings more attention to your car. As zar has said, just put it in your bag or get a QR lock and leave that shit inside...

I have also order a QR lock, so don't worry. And, I'm not doing it for the "cool factor", I would much rather keep the steering wheel with me as much as possible. And, as far as putting it in my backpack; I've got enough books to carry around from my grad program. So, putting it on the outside of the pack is the easiest thing.

"So Mr. whoeverthefuckyouare. Do you drive a Ferrari or something to warrant carrying your steering around with you?"
Yes, yes I do. "Oh really, what do you drive?" A nissan 240sx. "A what? OHH. The car I bought my wife years back! Why the hell would someone steal that?" Because my car is the shit. *class and janitor laugh at you*

It wont make you look cool now and with all the knock off works bell hubs out, it really isnt a theft deterant anymore b/c the people that scout our cars will know that any ball type knock off will work.
About 3-4 years ago when the works bell was the only option and no copies avail then taking the steering wheel to class and making it easier to get out of your bucket seat and roll caged car made it a cool factor. I drove mine for the last two years of college and strapped it to my bag and then the works bell wheel lock came out so i just put up in the roll cage. |

maybe theft isnt much of an issue where you guys live but around me doods would break into your car just to steel the wheel if you left it in there.
I have no advice on what bag to get, but get something big enough to put the wheel IN, not strapped to it please.

Thats what I used to do with my steering wheel, toss it in the trunk, flip the toggle switch so you cant pop the trunk from the inside. You'll have to use a key to open the trunk or crawl thru the back seat...

I use my steering wheel as a belt buckle . I like having the two things that are important to me in the same area. Har Har

i take my steering wheel with me
i get weird looks if you leave it in the car you risk the chances of a thief taking it or stealing your car with it. not to mention you're screwed if your car gets broken into and the thief takes your steering wheel. |
