KA24DE Timing Chain Issues
Hello all,
I've embarked on my first engine swap, by stripping an KA24DE out of an S14 and rebuilding it to drop into my KA24DE S13, and its going well so far, only minor hiccups have hindered me thus far. I've stripped the replacement motor down to the block and head, and the timing chain is giving me some grief. When turning the motor over via the crank, the cams don't rotate smoothly, but click over just as soon as the lobes finish depressing. Also, both the timing chains seems to have semi-liberal amounts of slack. I took a quick video with my cell phone, just so you can see what I'm talking about. If anybody wants, I can take a better quality video tomorrow, or I can answer any questions to the best of my abilities. I'm just trying to solve this problem so I can begin reassembling the motor and get ready for the first event of the season. Please keep in mind that I'm new to Zilvia and that this is my first endeavor into mechanics of this level. Thanks in advance! |
