Hey guys been kinda dormant on here just basically reading, and doing research. My build is 95% complete just waiting for the driveshaft to turn key. I’m really just curious as to what most of You guys are using for a throttle cable on a NON VVTI 2JZGTE in an S13 240sx swap. Would really appreciate any solid info, I’ve done a lot of reading on this thread and I know the necessary length and I believe someone said a Toyota Tercel throttle cable, but I didn’t read anything definitive

So I'm gonna put this out there so nobody else makes the mistake I did. I don't know about the 2j manual trans, but for the auto trans make sure you attach your starter before putting the motor in your engine bay. Cause there is no room to feed the bolt at least the top hole. Bottom one I might be able to hammer the tunnel a little bit.
So just putting that out there for info so others don't make my mistake, of course I was thinking that I could just install the starter later. But jokes on me haha. Also again for the guys running auto looks like you are gonna have to make your own transmission lines cause that stock hard line is not going to fit correctly. so just giving a little info on the little things that are never told. ^ Easy solution:
Drill out your threaded starter holes and attach your starter with nuts and longer bolts from your local hardware store. Bolts can now insert from the front side, and you can juuuuust squeeze a wrench and nut on the back side between the bellhousing and the firewall. That's what I did on mine (S13, 1J, R154)

Ok, did my first PDX Road Racing day, and I feel like I beat the shit out of the car, even compared to pro-am drifting.
Guys that do frequent track days, what trans fluid do you run in your R154? I feel like my Redline MT90 didnt hold up well. Also, who all runs an oil cooler? What system do you have? PFA:

As you know, I don't rock a 2J... but I do run an HKS oil cooler (-10AN lines to GREX oil block). Works like a champ! Mike

I finally got my S14 2j road worthy and drove for an extended drive for the first time. I don't think I'm the only one but I know I'm one of the few with a 3.13 rear end in an S chassis. My tranny of choice is a V160. Here is some feed back: THESE DAM GEAR ARE LONNNNGGG!! Its no wonder Supra can go well over 200mph. I don't really need to shift into 6th gear until at least 80 Its dumb. Strongly considering changing to a 3.26 or whatever the ratio is in an auto 350z. The gears are just too long.

I've done the above before installing the timing belt cover and crank pulley because I want to see if the dots and lines line up. When doing this, the dots on both cams and the crank match up after rotating the crank. Also, all line marks on both cams and the crank line up. Is this right? |

Use the LINE not the dot and rotate the vvti gear all the way clockwise..I did this and got my information from two professional 2jz builders/tuners that have 1000+ hp 2jz engines that they built themselves. Check this out for more info.. https://youtu.be/lz_Ai9hOhHY |

I recently rebuilt a 1.5JZ from scratch, plus redid my radiator support and cooling setup while I was at it.
Goal was a conservative reliable drifting setup, over 400hp/400tq, and fast spool. Absolutely nailed it. - Non-VVTI 2JZGE block, crank, & rods - 2JZGTE pistons & head gasket - Non-VVTI 1JZGTE head w/ modded oil port to better align/seal with 2J block - China DBB GTX3076R copy w/ T3 .82AR exh housing - China T3 exh manifold - 44mm Tial MVR - 800cc DeatschWerks injectors - AEM V1 ECU - Chasebays harness At 17psi, made 423hp/471tq At 20psi, hit the 450/500 ballpark Full boost by 3300rpm... Snappy! Northern radiator with monster 3-3/8" thick core compared to Mishi SR radiator. Modified the radiator to make it a dual pass (welded up by the one and only silviaks2nr). Also modified the upper water neck with a filler and a 90 to the passenger side. Cut out the old lower rad support, welded in a new rad support further forward. Fan to belt clearance. Ignore the harness, it ends up down low on the shroud with plenty of belt clearance as well. All buttoned up. Still need to make some shrouding to better direct air flow thru the radiator. On the rollers.

Can confirm - the 3076R is incredibly fun on the 2J block. Loads of torque down low. No more bogging and clutch kicking, no more dropping down a gear to stay in boost at higher RPMs. Absolute butter to drift.
Unless you're trying to make huge power numbers to flex on the 'Gram, I'd def recommend this turbo for a drift setup.

Does anyone know if there?s any difference between the JDM Aristo alternator round plug vs the USDM SC300 alternator round plug?
I ordered a 200 amp alternator for a 1992 SC300 that was new and built in the USA. Didn?t work worth a shit and made my voltage problem even worse like it wasn?t even charging the battery. So I?m curious if there?s something I maybe missing. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Negative - on the SC300 one my voltage would never go over 12.1 and it only dropped after turning on accessories and driving. I?m hoping maybe it was just a shitty unit. Sent it back to seller Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
