Shops in the Bay Area - I need an updated list
So I actually live in humboldt county and as far as performance shops up here thats a no go since everyones stuck on the muscle car drag and honda shit. So my only avenue for what I need is to travel. Seeing as the bay area is huge and there are lots of different areas i was wondering if the people in these areas could provide me with the names of shops THEY RECOMMEND. I have to swap my silvia front and SR20 to pass a smog / CHP inspection for change of state salvage title and have become so fucking aggrevated with the whole situation that I am just prepared to throw money at the problem till its fixed and my car is registered so I dont have to worry about this ish anymore and start building the damn thing.
Before smart ass posts consisting of "search this" or go to the area section i will say that: I did, they are old posts and not up to date (shops change quality and close and open over time), and the south west states section isn't that active and most of it is so cal and other areas. So please if you guys could help me by providing me with names of reputable shops in the bay area and numbers (if you got them if not I have an iPhone so just tell me where they are located) i would greatly appreciate it. Also if there are any individuals located in these areas or close to me with access to a shop or have the tools to get this done AND have the parts I need to swap I am willing to PAY for ur assistance and time. After all I don't want to go through the trouble of buying all this stuff and then having to do all the work in my driveway in the rain (cus it rains a lot here). Also willing to go to Redding, Santa Rosa, and SAC so if y'all know of shops there too that would be much appreciated. So sorry if this thread comes across a tad bit dickish but I have been struggling with this issue for many months now and my first solution was to just reg in OR again but seeing as I just got 2 jobs in the state of CA it would be hard to claim residency and commute. Now it has come to this and unfortunately for me if this was 4 years ago and San Diego I'd be covered but I lost touch with those ppl and the shops have since closed down |

Ok cool thanks man, I'll hit up blu808, as for the other I'm looking for shops that really specialize in 240's, someone that will have a stock 89-94 front end and a 91+ motor layin around so that I don't have to wait for parts or anything, if its an avid 240 or Nissan shop they should have those things just kickin around collecting dust and what not

Yeah I seriously wish I still lived in SD I would've had this done by now unfortunately I know no one in the area with a shop that I can just use to do it myself and I only have one buddy up here with more than half a brain when it comes to working on cars, but still lack the parts. Looks like I might just end up heading back to SD to get everything done. Besides I work 2 jobs so money is something I have and time to do a swap in my driveway is something I'm lacking.... But I am completely dead serious about if someone near me has the tools, a workspace, and the parts I need to swap I will pay them for their help with either cash, beer, strippers, trident layers and/or chex mix... Pick ur poison cus I hate paying shops to do work that I am completely competent enough to do myself primarily cus I'm lacking the tools and workspace

Get in contact with zilvia user: Gumballf355. He has worked on many 240s at his shop, including mine. His shop is in san jose near Oakridge Mall.

Yeah I wish it was just a ticket, but this is for registration. Kid neglected to tell me it was a salvage title and I found out the hard way that salvage title state transfers require more steps including CHP inspection |

Yeah I did actually, and it doesn't change the fact that this is supposed to be in regional not general.

I wouldn't go to Performance Options, a close friend of mine was sold a S14 that was completely jacked up from them. They disclosed none of the bad stuff with the car, I'd elaborate but the lawsuit is pending.
Try Treds in Hayward, they have several 240s there and the owner knows them. good luck |
