EGR = Knock Code?

so ive recently been battling with my CEL. she shows me 2 codes 32 and 34. ive replaced every vac line with new line. cleaned out the EGR with carb cleaner. Now when i lift the diaphragm the car starts to die.

however when i depress the brake rapidly my idle will start to faulter and bounce around 500 rpm. the diaphragm does not lift when you back off the throttle leading me to believe that my EGR is bad.

so, my question, could my faulty EGR valve be causing me to have a slight knock and throw a knock sensor code? or is that just simply stupid of me to think.

have you gently lifted on the diaphragm while the car was running? that should make it stumble.
