Unable to get my 240 into a good alignment.

Vh45 swapped 1990 240sx on Hks drag coilovers, having trouble getting the fronts to match up. Noticed at home I had positive camber on the passenger side and negative on the drivers side, ended up sliding them both fully in for negative camber with no luck, and ended up taking it to a shop to get on the rack and see if they can have some luck, here is where we ended up, these are pics from the rack of how close they could get it(according to them) and the frame measurements

And

What are my options? I'm planning to get rid of the drag coilovers as I'd like this to be a drift car and I want height adjustments

Any help would be fantastic, if I haven't provided enough Info please ask or tell me what you need to know to help me. Thanks!

Are there any signs that this car has been in a wreck? Chassis could be tweaked

There was some damage in the rear AsS13hatch but didn't look bad enough to tweek the frame.

Heychris, I talked to a buddy who has been doing auto work for quite awhile he is saying it might be the lower control arms, I'm thinkin to order some adjustable ones when I get my coilovers

I think you need to take some accurate measurements of the chassis mounting points, frame rails front to rear, wheel center to center side to side etc to
establish the frame is straight and true before you throw a heap of cash at a bent chassis
but lets not for get even a stock chassis can be varying easy 10mm + in ride height
from turret height differences and other variables in the chassis production
,so their kind of bent to start with tbh

Good idea! I took the fender off today drivers side and noticed a slight dent so maybe it was hit, I'll have to get it up on same ramps and get under it with a tape, I'll report back.

Thanks!

lol, i wouldn't be surprised this thing does not seem to have had a easy life. If it's not to tweeked can I get it close with all adjustable arms and just beat it to hell till I'm ready for a new shell?

If the frame doesn't look bad underneath I'd lean towards bent arms / kingpins / uprights....However before spending loads of cash on arms I'd do like Andy said take some accurate measurements....

Be sure to report back on what you find and how you fixed if needed. With so many beaten 240s out there the info would be good for the board...

Take pics of how you have the locking screws to the camber plates.

Is this how the top mounts are positioned/adjusted to now?
as the passenger side is max negative camber
and drivers side is max positive in them two pictures
as far as I can tell
EDIT: just re read 1st post and you say moved both to max negative ? was the drivers side re adjusted at the shop?

Try some cam bolts in the hub and strut mounting point. I have picked up some camber adjustment there also.

Do the coils have slotted top holes where it mounts to the knuckle?

So the body/frame shop guy looked it over and said he doesn't think anything in the frame is tweeked, at this point I think it's the suspension that's causing this issue, also I hate these coilovers.
I just went as negative as I could and I'm still getting way more camber on the drivers side then the passenger side, if I bring the drivers side back out towards negative it still doesn't look like it matches up, closer but not perfect.

Could any of this damage/rust on the drivers side be causing a issue?

This looks caved in a bit, maybe the strut tower is tweaked in at the top

The rusty bits don't look that good but I doubt its bad enough yet to affect it
but saying that it must be weaker/more flexy in that area so will need doing asap
has the car got a matching pair of front lower arms as in a pair of 13 or 14/14a arms
just an idea an arm has been swapped in the past and the 10mm difference between
the 13 and longer 14/14a arm
maybe worth checking both are same length,as we never know what's been done to our cars in the past really
and them lower arms bend easy when you hit a wheel on a kerb

^^^^^^This...Since the frame guy ok'd you I would start here....The 240 is pretty flexy but I doubt you've got a bent shock tower....I'd then start checking the other front arms, tie rods and finally the knuckles...

Keep us posted!

I'll give those arms a check! Thanks a ton Guys! I've been wanting to stuff some wide wheels under this so I think since I have to replace the lowers I'll go with a set of adjustables, any suggestions on what brands are good?

If you wanna go baller hit up SPL...

However....if you wanna go baller on a budget...get some BattleVersion/Isis arms and buy good Aurora rod ends...

Check out nissanroadracing.com for suspension setups for these cars. Don't listen to JDM fanbois about coilovers suspensions etc....
