my car ran fine before I took the top valve cover and the front cover off to take the timing chain off. after I put everything back, the car would idle for about 10 second then it would die. when I try to give it gas, the RPM would just dip then dies. is it because my valve cover is not sealed tightly? and yes I have adjusted the timing when I put my distributor back in(otherwise the car wont even start.) any help is apppreciated

problem solved.... the distributor was off by a tiny bit.
