that vid is NUTS, saw it the other day. Gota love roll cages!

What do you think caused that? not enough downforce? bad "undercarrage" design? a bump?

edit: he fixed the link

fixed, thanks!

I'm not sure what caused that. I was searching for the videos of the Mercedes GTP cars that did the same thing. With the Benz, they determined with the closed cockpit, it was shaped like and wing, which would give it the lift.

I'd think anything doing 200+ would have a chance of lifting off the ground without some serious downforce.

i guess the wind got under those front tire... besides.. the rex doesnt seem to have enough downforce (minimum wing design)
just look at the rex.. minimun front and rear spoiler..
they should've put a bigger wing to get more downforce

I have video of that MLK (I watched it live on TV actually, his teamate had done the same arial stuff I think a couple days earler, they pulled the 3rd car from the race immediately after the 2nd car flew) and a porshe that did the same thing...not quite as much hang time on the porshe but still the same thing. I heard something about certian places of some tracks being redesigned to keep the chance of "flying" down a bit. I guess no crests(or hills or whatever they are called) on straightaways, however small they may have been.

What year did that merc fly anyway?

edit: just did a quick google, here's the merc vid
