A friend of mines car just got jacked, its got a "vertex" kit, dumped on PBM coilovers and exhaust.

It is in the San Diego Area, if you see this car or have any info please PM me.

Someone took my 07 sticker off and it got towed, but don't you think the police would run the plate to see if it had current reg anyways before towing? I would.

The night I notice it was gone I called the tow line 619-531-3000 it's the number you call if your car gets towed anywhere in the city. They said it did not and asked if I wanted to report it stolen, so I did.

When the officer came by to take the report he said it showed that my reg had expired in Sep 06, I said thats wrong cuz I got it smogged and reged through AAA. they gave me the sticker and reg papers. He said Oh.

So the next Day my pops calls the police to see what the deal was and sure enough it was towed and waiting in the Star towing yard.

I call AAA asking what happened, How could this of happened? What is the deal? They say that I had a $65 pending payment and that is why the reg was on hold, I asked why would you have given me reg. for the entire year if it wasn't complete, the cute girl behind the counter didn't have an answer. so I asked if I go and get $65 That would take care of everything and I would be good to go, she says yes, so I go to the ATM.

When I return 10 minutes later I find out that I cannot pay the money because it has already been paid(by no one) and that everything is clear, I should get my new tags that will expire in 08 in the mail in about 1 week.

I say thats great by then I think about the times I got pulled over and the time I broke down on the way back from willow springs, the CHP officer ran my plate and left quietly, why would he have done that if my reg was expired even more he would have noticed I had 07 tags when I shouldn't have (thats a big no no).

so after I this I have no idea what to think or do but I did get stuck with a $400 impound charge that will take at least 6 months to get reimbursed from the city if they even do.

There you have it I hope I didn't leave anything out.
