Midwest 240sx Meet - April 12th - 14th - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum

Ok, here is the information on the meet that you have all been waiting for, the meet dates are April 12th through 14th and it is going to be held here in Kansas City, MO. Things that we have planned so far are:

Friday - 1/4 Mile Drag Racing at the Kansas City International Raceway
Saturday - Indoor Cart Racing / BBQ & Car Show later in the day

Hotel accomidations are going to be at the Ramada Inn @ KCI and we have a group rate setup of $59/night for either a single or a double, I have a few rooms set aside for anyone that wants to come up on Thursday night, if you are going to be attending I will give you the contact information for them so you can get your room reserved. The 1/4 mile drag racing right now is $10 per person, I am talking with the manager of the track about getting us better pricing and our own staging lanes, until I have set that in stone expect the pricing to be the same. Saturday's events will run $25 for the cart track and they will collect that at the track, the BBQ should run no more than $5 - 10 per person depending on what we end up cooking.

This is going to be a great meet and there are already tons of people lined up to come, so no matter where you are from if you can make it please do so!

If you are interested in attending please contact me back at [email protected], let me know when you plan on arriving, what kind of hotel room you are going to need, and how many people you are planning on bringing with you.

I will release other information later if I get anything that is pertinent to the meet but for now any questions please direct to me via email to [email protected]

I just thought I would add an update to this for anybody who is planning on coming, the hotel accomidations and everything are setup but you have to reserve your hotel room 2 weeks before the meet so if you are planning on coming and have not dropped me an email yet please do so at [email protected] and let me know so I can get you the hotel contact information.

just outa curiosity, is there anyone that's going to be there on fri and not sat?

i ask because i've never seen/ridden in a SR20DET or KA24DET equipped 240, and i don't want to miss that opportunity if someone is only going to be there fri and not sat

i should be able to make it... i have step family or something in st joseph, mo. so ill just stay there.. what time is teh drag racing setup gonna start so i know what time i need to leave.. its like 6 hours from where i live thx

Attendance looks to be around 20 cars or so, maybe a little bit more at the height of each event.  There will be at least 3 SR powered 240's there, not any KA-T's on the list yet that are definites for showing.

If anybody is definitely planning on coming and has not dropped me an email for contact info and the info on where to be and when they really need to because there isn't a solid source of information for that other than the email that I have sent out.  [email protected] is the email for those interested in coming.

just outa curiosity, what part of KC is this gonna take place in? kansas side, missouri side? north/south? wondering because it really makes a difference on what route i take to get there........I70, K10, 435 etc.......

The hotel is located in North Kansas City on the MO side, that is where the center of everything will be, all of Saturday's activities are in the Lenexa/Overland Park area, and of course Friday night we will be in Independence at the drag strip.

If you need good directions to or from somewhere let me know.

that video was too cool, don't like the song but it was well put together. i'm bringing a digital camera. it can take video but not very well at all.

i won't lose this one like i did at the big meet in June. $300 down the drain. hehe.

Partly cloudy. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms late. Lows in the upper 40s.
sat
A chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day... otherwise partly cloudy. Highs in the lower 70s.

hopefully it doesn't rain on us, but it is monsoon season here so plan accordingly

Well if everyone comes down friday and then saterday if it rans we could all meet up down in the plaza. I know I know...its the plaza and richie BUT its covered parking so we can bs and check out each others cars.

hey sil.....i know we've had our disputes, but that idea of yours is a good one, i'm not familiar with the plaza area, maybe you could scope out a typically vacant covered lot for us to gather, so that at least somebody knows exactly where to go if the situation presents itself.

Well it rained here last night but it is "suppose" to get sunny. It does look a little iiiikkkkyy out right now though(12:30pm) but we will see. Still dry though.
Now the plaze does get busy on friday and saterday night but there is one lot that im sure that will be available. Now if any other kcmo person knows off another spot please say cause it never hurts to have back up.
