If your tach isn't broken you cannot install that.

Well, actually you just shouldn't.

But, if you must... I imagine it's just a tach signal wire.

If your stock tach works, there is no reason to put a ridiculously huge, and ugly tachometer in your car. If your stock tach doesn't work, fix it, or replace it with another stock one. That's my opinion at least. If you don't know when to shift, you should sell that tach, and use the money for gas, so you can practice driving your car.

If this hasn't discouraged you from hooking up that hideous, giant tach... which I'm assuming is going to be on top of your dash, in front of your face, here's how I'm guessing you need to hook it up.

-Find a KA24E FSM. They can be downloaded all over the place.
-Use aformentioned FSM to find your tach signal wire.
-Tap that wire.
-Then, your tach probably needs +12V and ground so it can power up that huge shift light. So find an ignition switched wire to use for that, and ground it too.

I don't have one of those tachs. How many wires does it have?

Maybe it's just not meant to be.

The only wires I could see a tach needing are:
-tach signal
-12V
-ground
-headlight switched +12

I don't know. Here, I google'd it for you. That took all of 4 seconds.

no need to get on him about the tach thing.. judging from his screen name sounds like he came from a drag honda background.

ok the orange and brown wires you dont touch. just keep those looped and forget about them.

GREEN - will tap into IGNITION. open up your steering column cover. the wire that you will want to tap into is a wire connecting to your ignition.. I THINK the color is BLUE with white stripe.. ( NOT !100% positive so someone correct me if needed)

WHITE - is the accessory lighting wire. tap that into any dash or accessory lighting that turns on when your key is switched on. (head unit, cigarette lighter light, etc etc.)

RED - POWER WIRE.. you can go straight to battery, or tap into an existing power source (headunit, etc etc.)

BLACK - GROUND.. self explanitory but if you need an explanation, then just run this to a good point on the chassis.. tap into existing ground, or run straight to battery ground.

i figured id post this in the thread instead of PM so everyone else that likes to run 2 tachs can figure it out too.

if you had taken the time to actually read the links provided by the lovely people above, and actually do research... i wouldnt have to be here telling you how to connect wires. GL with the install

you also need to clip the brown and orange wires and insulate them with electrical tape so they dont touch each other for the tach to be calibrated.

Im not a big fan of big tacs either, but this car came into my shop, and had there am tach wired into the cluster itself. And they had the shift light made with custom led's that sar behind the right vent on the trim. Kinda neat? Figured Id share...

That's decent looking. It's not all up in your face. I hate the huge 5" tachs that are on people's dashes. It just adds a huge blind spot.
