Working as a nuclear engineer currently, but I'm in grad school working on a Systems Engineering degree.
dunno wtf i wanna do with my life still. are you working in the DC office? I saw on usajobs.gov that they were looking for a few engineers that were down with doing vehicle dynamics calculations.. I did motorsports engineering in undergrad, and i think that would have been the perfect job for me... but im under contact with my company right now for another 2/3 of a year... plus they are picking up my tuition tab haha. Im in a bind.

God, how I would love to have a job like that. I'd have no problem answering all those emails, being an extremely fast typer definatly helps...lol I'm a Field Service Manager, Doing/ checking Structural Repairs done on both Residential houses, and Commercial. I hate my fucking job, but, in the last 4 years that I've been doing it, it has taught me a SHIT TON. It has taught me how to do almost every and any repair a house could ever need, it has also helped me become a much better and much faster problem solver

anything that deals with nuclear power systems or naval nuclear propulsion systems. It can be developing, maintaining/supporting/overhauling, or refueling/defueling either primary (nuclear reactor) or secondary (steam turbine) systems. I work with naval nuclear propulsion systems. If you keep up with US defense stuff, USS Roosevelt is currently in its 25 year overhaul phase. That includes the refueling of its cores.
I suspect you are in HS or early college? If your wondering how one gets into this field: Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or plain old Nuclear Engineering will get you in this type of stuff.

It has taught me how to do almost every and any repair a house could ever need, it has also helped me become a much better and much faster problem solver I've been doing mostly framing, roofing, siding and any other part of work you can do to a house like you said. As a field guy do you work on these repairs yourself,? or do you follow up on a job once it's finished to make sure everything was done right, or both? Just curious b.c doing this shit gets old, and living in NJ where its freezing 6 months out of the year leaves me with too much time being out of work. |

There's Three Crews, Me and my helper, and two other techs. with helpers. I do all the same things that they do, repair wise, buttt, I also have to go back and check all the other crews jobs, and then do all the paper work for all the jobs once i've passed them. As well as deal with the PITA customers. But, that's why they pay me ALOT more than the other people i work with, lol. I can't complain about the pay, but i seriously fucking hate the work
