I don't see why everyone is bashing this guy. It's a legitimate concern if he's worried about that kind of stuff. Maybe he doesn't want glow-in-the-dark babies?

Just wondering if you guys are still making fun of this disaster or if you've been paying attention.
At this point thousands are having their hair and teeth fall out, babies are being aborted and radioactive contamination has made its way to the US. On Fukushima Beach (Full) - YouTube |

Every US port has Radiation detectors. So does the postal service. Heck, they even have them on the sides of the road these days to check truck shipments. If not for these, every anti-American entity out there would simply be shipping dirty bombs all over the country.
Now, I am not saying this whole thing is a joke. I am simply saying that freaking out about it is most likely not necessary. Yes, the people in the immediate area are seeing side effects, but the levels that are leaving the country are another story. I grew up next to Three Mile Island. I have been inside the part of the plant that shut down after the accident, with no protective equipment on. I also just went through some Chemotherapy. I still don't glow in the dark, nor have I grown any new tentacles. Radiation is a serious threat, but more people need to understand it. Worrying about getting cancer from your new engine set is just slightly silly. Unless maybe it was parked in the parking lot at the Fukushima plant last March. Even then, I still highly doubt it has made it through customs.

So the moving things are real time?
The first graph thing at the bottom says they do not guaranty the accuracy of the diagram or the timeline. That video is pretty alarming. Just watched the whole thing, it is very alarming. Last edited by illvialuver; 09-27-2012 at 03:24 AM.. |

On Fukushima Beach, part 4 of 4 - YouTube Radioactive bluefin tuna crossed the Pacific to US - Yahoo! News radioactive parts? I think we should be more concerned about the glow in the dark seafood, contaminated ocean water, airborne radioactive fallout. shocking that one stupid video can bring about so much rage worldwide, yet another video posted about something that is actually legitimate, something that the main stream media is ignoring, can go completely unnoticed. |

Hate to break it to you all but the US Navy discharges hundreds of gallons of radioactive water from their naval reactors into oceans around the world every day.
Those maps mamang posted are horseshit. According to them, everyone on the west coast should be dead as a dose of 750 rem would be fatal almost 100% of the time. |

Uh, yea we do. I was a reactor operator in the navy and we discharged primary water into the ocean countless times. The navy has been doing this for 50+ years, so the notion that a few thousand gallons of water is going to make its way to the US and somehow affect anyone here is absurd.

You guys are so ignorant and naive.
This is a legitimate concern. At my company we were concerned with the laptops we were getting from japan. The radiation levels are through the roof and there's been a coverup by the US government and Japanese government from the get go of the leak and meltdown. The radiation levels were covered up as well and 'safety' levels were RAISED... and RAISED again.. and again... so legally they are saying it's 'safe' but technically they just RAISED the safety margin and limit. Open your eyes and stop being TOOLS. Do not buy pacific fish either... You ever ask yourself WHY cancers are on the rise? In countries like kosovo, serbia, libya, iraq its because of depleted uranium use by the united states army. Otherwise in the last century mainly due to nuclear wepaons testing by western governments and Russia. Another contributing factor is increase of microwaves from a variety of devices. Even the so called 'non-lethal' microwave weapons induce cancers. Heed to warnings, learn and read and educate yourself or remain ignorant if you're idiots. |

I was stationed in Japan when the quake hit and it is a legitimate concern. All of our vehichles that went to assist the japanese had to get a DECON. It was a huge concern then out of nowhere leadership just stopped talking about it. I wouldnt eat the fish, but as far as parts I dont see it being a problem. If youre that concerned about your jdm parts get a DECON kit. lol

Depleted uranium means that it contains a lower percentage of U-235 than what is found in the naturally occurring stuff in the ground. You know, the stuff that can be found in trace amounts in ground water. Depleted uranium is kind've like lead in that if you don't ingest it or lick it or something you'll be fine. Maybe you should take your own advice and educate yourself instead of spreading conspiracy theory. |

Research links rise in Falluja birth defects and cancers to US assault The US has used chemical weapons such as phosphor based weapons and depleted uranium rounds in Iraq. It only takes a little bit of searching to find the cancer epidemic sharply rising after the first gulf war and then yet again rising after the second invasion and occupation. You are welcome to drink your trace amounts in water. Breast Cancer Continues to Rise in Iraq . Parents fight back over raised radiation limits - Asia - World - The Independent It's well known that both the US and Japan kept raising the safe limits so then it legally/technically is considered "SAFE" lol. You're a tool. Let me guess you believed the government when they said Iraq had wmd, was behind 911 and sponsored 'alqaeda'. Did you also believe the US court ruling that Iran was behind 911 and that now Iran has WMD, or almost has them, or about to have them and quick quick fear fear panic panic lets invade another country? |

You know the difference between us? I have a degree in nuclear engineering and you are just regurgitating shit you heard on the internet.
Like I mentioned previously, depleted uranium is actually LESS dangerous than the kind that is mined out of the dirt. The kind that is naturally occurring can be found in your drinking water in trace amounts. The government didn't put it there...it is naturally occurring. According to the article you linked the new limit they imposed on civilians in Japan is about 2 Rem (20 mSV is 2 Rem). That is 3 Rem less than I am allowed to receive in a year at the facility I work at, and it is 48 Rem less than what is considered to be dangerous. I'm sure your sources at Youtube say otherwise, but unless you hang out in the water immediately adjacent to the plant or you actually go into the plant you, as well as your car parts, probably aren't in any real danger. |

I'm popping in to say our planet is way past repair. Live your life. Worrying about this shit wont fix it. You can't clean the shit up really. Look at Chernobyl. Will be a fucking ghost town long after all of us, our kids and our grandkids are dead and in the ground.
My father was a nuke tech for the navy. Retired now, he's a civilian nuke tech. Has worked at a good bit of facilities all up and down the east coast. Aint SHIT you, me or anyone else can do about it really. Radiation can only be contained in lead really. And the half life is fucking absurd. It just keeps emitting radioactive particles until it because lead.... I know alot of shit i wished i didn't. "clean power" my ass.......
