Hey guys im building a track car and i was wondering what would be the best suspension for 3k and under. and if possible dont say its personal prefference because i dont have ulimited money for testing coilovers. i would just like to know what would be best for track/downhill. thanks for your help.

and if possible i would like to keep it so i can have the coilovers rebuilt without waiting 8months to send them to japan or germeny.

There is no absolute "best" suspension, it's all opinion. If I had 3k to bank for coilovers I'd call Koni up and get a set of custom 3012/3011 shocks fabbed up.

it's personal preference... bwahaha.. no but seriously.. most coilovers are good.. some just have different 'feels' to them..

apexi N1 pro
Tanabe DDs or sustec pros
silk road rm8s

I'm sure any one of those will suit your needs

and i know there is no best but there is popular and custom koni's are about 1,500 (i talked to them) each thats more then i want to spend.

I'd say Zeal Super Function or Apexi N1 PRO. They are very comparable in performance but the Zeals will allow you to lower your car an insane amount more, like scraping the tension brackets and frame rails low. N1 PRO on the other hand can be found for cheaper than the Zeals.

instead of higher end coilovers i would opt for a semi budget setup like KTS from spl... instead of sending in your shocks for a rebuild they send you new shocks for 500 something when they blow up.

best part is you'll have almost $2k left over for all the other suspension goodies you should be putting on there as well.

dont get me wrong im sure KTS would be fine for a street car that hit the track a few times a year. i would just like something with a good background and i know will work.

Zeal Function D or the Zeal Super Function......also check out Cusco Zero2Rs and even some Aragosta coilovers

KTS is known to be great. The spring rates are a bit high for my personal choice but the build quality is supurb. SUPURB! Get all polyurathane bushings, front/rear adjustable sway bars, some chassis bracing, that KTS maybe with some other little jibber jabber suspension bs.

I also daily drive with KTS, I say a set of KTS with a full multi-link from SPL would be one great track setup.

Whiteline hands down. If I were going all racecar I'd get them. No one puts more research into their stuff, and everyone who gets them is more than happy. More than one 240 with their swaybars has been able to acheive over 1.0g maintained.

i suggest going w/ zeal coilovers.. there are many different options... Zeal's are the one of the best out there.. They are proven time and time again.. on people either auto crossing or road racing. just putting zeals in their car puts them ahead of the pack when they were once mid pack.. these cannot be said w/ some of the other coilovers... and we are talking about at a pro level... also zeals can be rebuilt and custom valved in the us

Advanced design if it is a true track car. If it is a multi-purpose car then you have a ton of choices but I would go with zeal due to their reputation. Advanced Design are rebuildable Monotube struts. Digressive valving. Proven track performer. But it is a track setup not meant to get 15K in driving a year.

Ohlins (rare to get here, probably $$ to get rebuilt)

but for what you're looking for (rebuilds here, customer service) I would get the Zeal Function V6
there are the Zeal Function X and XR, Zeal's high end,
although i'm not sure if those models are rebuildable stateside

im not sure what you are talking about but i never said that kts isnt good for daily driving. i said that its good for daily driving and going to the tracks once in a while. this is a straight track car.

Get higher end coil overs (about $2k) and spend the other grand on pillowball arms and bushings.

if you wanna put all into coils then u def should go kei office, zeal, or spl aragosta coils. but otherwise i would recommend the kts coils. they are only 1200 and are able to get new shocks for 550 and thats for all 4. the silkroad rm8s have to be shipped out to be rebuilt i believe so more downtime is there. But with the kts u ccan get new sways, tons of adjustable multi-link rods, rims, tires. much better for custom alignments also

Something from the US or that has local US support. Probably GC's or Koni's....

Wouldn't spend money on many arms...TC rods, subframe bushings and a LSD of some type. Spend the rest on tires.

If you need some sorta adjustability in the suspension I guess you could go with arms, but you won't see the same returns you will see getting the basics.

Peep the things I did to my car, was not worth the total costs for the return it gave me. Fun car and all, just you could spend money on other things to get you really close to the same point.
