Weird upper front arms

I've got two upper front link arms from the same car (S14) and one has a gusset welded in while the other doesn't.

PIX:
Gusseted

Regular

comparison

What's up with this? Is the gusseted one a nismo part or something?

Just looked at the title....FRONT arms?

Those are rear traction or camber arms.

Either way, it was someone probably trying an idea they had out to box the piece to make it stronger.

I have a S14 kouki and all my arms look like the first one.

FSM calls them upper front links.

People call them traction arms.

I tend to use both terms.

I bought a complete rear suspension off a modified S14 that had was slammed into while on a freeway. I figured that one side had taken a hit at some time prior and that link was replaced. Thanks for the info.

I replaced all the rear arms on my S14, and my toe rods looked identical to those.. might be aftermarket replacement.
