Go to SP Engineering!
They are in the city of Industry. They did that orange RX-7 in turbo magazine 2 months ago and they did a SR swap on my friends S14. let me know if you need any more info |

What do you mean needs an intercooler? Doesn't come with the stock sidemounted one? Oh, and if i were to buy the jdm Apexi GTR turbo intercooler core with no piping, just the core,, will it be suitable for my 1996 240sx with the s14 sr20det?
Thanks |

SR20 Performance in West Covina, Ca can do the install. Your Apexi core will work, just need custom piping and brackets welded to your intercooler to fit, and trim your bumper a bit with option to remove or grind away partial of your bumper reinforcement.
$5500 is doable with motor and most labor, with addition of custom intercooler piping and etc Contact me for details if you are interested. |

Yeah we can do the S14 SR install for that, with stock sidemount intercooler and install it would actually run around 4750 installed, the only problem with that is we are located in Kansas City, MO and you are in California.
I didn't know if you were up to a road trip or not but most people don't want to go that far for an install <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> |

SR20 Performance is formed by 3 auto enthusiasts just like us. Age about early to mid 20's.
We drop by yesterday to check up on their installs, and they just fired up another S13 with black top SR20DET. One thing they do in all of their install is they check for oil pump pressure before firing up, making sure the oil system is functioning to prevent engine damage due common frozen oil pump. They are currently booked for a bit though because they are also Rotary enthusiasts so can be quite busy. We highly refer them to do your install if you are around the area who are planning to buy motors and/or front clips from us. A few people I've heard around here talk about their SR20DETs refer to them as the bluebird motors. Now I know that a Bluebird is the Japanese Altima FF, so that would make sense (FWD SR20DET)

Hey, I never realized how many sr20 tuners there were here in LA. I was going to go to Motorex to have my sr20 done, but I am going to check out these other places too. Thanks for all the info guys.

Wasn't MotoRex going to make the SR20DET swaps smog legal if you get it from them? Has anyone asked them yet? I tried asking them, but I got no reply back.

Don't get me wrong, but from what I have heard and even seen on their website, Heavy Throttle is no longer doing SR installs right now, I know that one of the owners got a job elsewhere and had to move away so from what I understand they are only doing parts.
