I cant figure out what is making the is rattle noise. It sounds like something hitting the exhaust only at 3k rpm but i cant seem to pin point. any suggestions??

its that heat wrap crap that goes around you down pipe. it's chill

Or you have a bad cat with crumbled up honey comb.

Lift your car up and give it a good shake. Safely of course. If nothing then might want to drop your exhaust and inspect your cat. If you have it on.

I have 3'' turbo back exhaust with no heat wrap and no cat.

people....he did say turbo back.

check to see if one of the sensors for your tranny is hitting something. I wired mine wrong the first time...and it was hitting shit.

but if it's at a certain rpm.....have someone rev your car to 3k and listen for it.

check to see if the bolt that holds the down pipe to the transmission is still there. If its not it can rattle at higher rpms.

I took a look at it this morning but i still couldnt find it. I drove it around the block a few times and I hear the noise at 3k when I drive, but when I get home and jack it up and rev it, the noise wont appear. Im very frustrated. I need to get it on a lift... Any more ideas???
