WoW (tranny)
this is pretty crazy...
I performed a cardinal sin by not checking my tranny before I put it in beause I thought it looked clean but after i got it running and had driven it for about 50 miles The clutch felt funny and made a noise every once in awhile and it was nothing out of the ordinary because ive been driving stick for a long time and knew that the clutch was on its way out but was still drivable, then one day on the way home from work i hear a "knock a ping ping" and then a sound that felt like it lhit the car but I know NOTHING couldve actually hit the car. A few weeks later I buy a clutch and am in the process of taking the bellhousing off I find this... Pretty crazy huh Im thinking itwas a rivet that the flywheel knocked loose and shot that F'er out of there...what do you guys think?

Nice hole. I cant think of anything inside your tranny that could do that unless its some sort of foreign object that shouldnt be there.

lol nope thats some good old fashion ventilation!
It ende dup being 3 fingers broke off the pressure plate and did some major damage in there...which totally explains all the clutch chatter, lol

hard to tell who makes thta tclutch unless it is stamped on it but one thing i can tell you is chatter you were having is normal with discs like this bc disc/plate combos like that allow very limited slipage ... it wasnt the pressure plate.

Hmm I didnt even think link the chatter to the clutch harshness...I forgot about that...
I think ill just let the hole be. Its not that big of a deal and its small. I thought it would also cost more to get patche dup!

yeah the clutch was on the way out, like I said before. It was just a matter of time. I drive dump trucks for a side job, I know how to drive stick.

This is what i found when i pulled my trans off. That stupid little spring was catching on the diaphragm spring on the pressure plate. Even if i pushed the clutch all the way in, the clutch assembly would not disengage. That little spring was able to transfer all the power of a KA to the drivetrain - crazy sh!t.
