S13 steering rack spacer options for moar gangster angelz?
Hi guys,
I currently have tein inner and outer tie rods on my s13. I also installed the small spacer they include to give a couple degrees more angle. I've been pretty pleased so far (with one minor exception), but I'd like to add more angle. What I don't like about the spacer they include is that there's no locking mechanism like the stockers have. They recommend loctite, and although I used it exactly as directed it still bothers me that there's no physical locking mechanism. I've purchased a hicas rack for fewer turns lock to lock, and when I swap this in, I'd like to add more angle as well as hopefully have some kind of locking mechanism for the inner tie rods + spacers. Do you guys know if I can buy another tein spacer and install it on the other side of the rack as well? Or is there a better type of spacer (bigger?) that will give me more angle and still have some type of locking mechanism?

If you want more angle with the option of using the locking tabs then there is always the option of using modified knuckles. I am personally using Parts Shop Max's forged angle knuckles, eccentric steering rack bushings, and locking tabs on my Ikeya Formula tie rods. Along with a few other parts, I've been able to achieve the maximum 62 degrees of lock on the knuckles with only 2.5 turns of steering from lock to lock.
These parts cost me a pretty penny, but you can use GKTech's tie rod spacer kit 4130 high tensile steel steering rack spacer set to get more angle for a pretty good price. |

I saw this dude in Australia was selling stock modified knuckles for $400 or something like that. If you have access to a welder I would just cut your stock knuckles at the tie rod part and move it slightly. Youll have to look somewhere where someone has done it to see where to move it.
