SR s14 sr turbo question

So i bought this motor set from a local speed shop about a year age and
am finally ready to finish my swap. I started thinking about the turbo so i popped off the inlet manifold and took a look and there is a oily black build-up
inside with a little shaft play. Take a look for yourself and tell me what you think, thanks ahead for your input

Well first off, was the line from the valve cover connected into the intake tract. Oil could have potentially came from there. As far as shaft play, is it side to side play or in and out?

all directions, in and out and side to side top to bottom, kinda sounds like a lowrider. It was a stock motorset as far as i know, don't know why they would change it. get a new turbo or run it? out of money at this point
