Auto to manual wiring help!

Ok so I'm swapping in a good ka with manual transmission into my auto blue hatch and a little confused as to how to splice the wires to get the reverse lights to work. One guide said I need to "cannibalize" the switch to the auto tranny harness but my dumbass got rid of it when junked the old engine.

My question is do I need that harness to make my reverse lights work? My reverse sensor is cut so there's just two wires hanging from it. Can I just splice the wires to the inhibitor(?) switch?

Would it be easier to just jury rig a switch inside the car directly to the lights instead? I had a friend do that so that every time he put his car in reverse it would push a switch in and activate the lights.

reverse switch being hooked up or not wouldn't keep it from running. get it running and then worry about the reverse lights... i am doing a auto to 5 speed swap in a 95 as we speak.

Getting the car running and having functional reverse lights are two completely different issues

The absolute cleanest, easiest way to have EVERYTHING working properly is to get one of these !

As far as your conundrum with the auto lower harness, you could try splicing into the original reverse lights wiring if they're down there... My car was an auto/manual swap when I bought it and the reverse lights didn't work- nor did I ever see anywhere to run the switch's wiring to. Once I got the WS harness, life got real easy

I'm sorry I meant to get it running. I got the two mixed up. From what I understand all I need is to just jumper the wires on that 2 wire plug to start it? I still have the manual harness can I use anything out of that for the reverse lights then?
