is there a difference?

So today some mechanic that works on 240s alot told me that a stock kouki sr20 makes more hp than a stock zenki sr20. I thought all s14 blacktops are the same. He said something about the harness and ecu. I was just wondering if this is true? I searched but couldn't really find an answer. :]

probably untrue.

think about it, if it is true... the difference would only be negligible

Same size turbo, injector, and tune...so how would they be different? S15s different, same engine but bigger turbo, injectors and tune. Thats like arguing that S13 blacktops are different from redtops.

kind of off topic but out of curiosity, is the ecu mapping of s15 sr's different from the other sr's because of the 6 speed tranny?

Not the tranny, wouldnt made a difference to the engine if you slap a 5 speed on it if you blew the tranny down the road. Hell, I was running an RB25 tranny on my S15 engine cuz I got sick and tired of blowing S-chassis transmissions. Car went thru 2 6-speeds, 3 S14s, CA18, Os giken gear set, before it went RB25. Kept the same 4.08 final gearing...

This updated version is also known as the kouki (後期, literally "later period") S14, or by enthusiasts as the S14A. A similar car was sold as the second generation 240SX in the United States from 1995 to 1998. The final model year of S14 production in all markets was 2000, called the Touring Model, which had a better engine, pistons and a high throtle on lower gears.

They are same

BTW Dont you know how to "Search" ? Why do we have to spoon feed you grown ass man...
