57 trim vs 50/60 trim T04E's + boredom
I remember a post on here from the other day saying that a 50 or 60 trim is superior to a 57 trim.
So I got to playin' with some compressor maps plotted with ka24de and.. the super 50 and 54 trim seem to be the best. On the 54 trim map from 4psi to 18psi, all data points are within the 76% efficiency island and 22psi is in the ~75% zone. The super 50 gets awesome efficiency above 10psi; I never hear of anyone running a super 50? all points on each map are for 4,8,10,12,15,18, 22 psi airflow and pressure ratios are calculated from Not2Fast 50 trim super 50 trim 54 trim 57 trim super 57 trim 60 trim but the point was.. the 57 looks better than the 60 on paper. The 60 trim map also looks pretty bad.. the worst of the bunch does anyone know/feel differently about anything? I'm just trying to do some homework for the future.. |

I dont agree with the red dots, I think they should be a little more to the right.
At 4psi, you have the engine flowing 17lbs/min of air. Using a 12.5:1 a/f ratio and a .5 specific fuel consuption thats only 163hp. I think a KA at 4 psi would be good for more like 200hp at the flywheel. |
