Hey Thanks to everyone that came out and supported our round 1! Hoping we can make it better for everyone in the future.
Thanks to all the vendors, spectators and especially to our staff. I had 0 minutes of sleep except falling asleep on the way home for the last 24 hours. Hoping we could continue to host events to everyone. We've been thinking with so much headache that it might not be worth it. ill be sleeping for 24 hours now. |

Mike's motor went... I think maybe his rings or something... but we couldn't let him out due to mechanical failure. He was doing really well today!!!
Thanks again to everyone that came out to support the drivers and DRIFTxBATTLE! We appreciate it... SERIOUSLY it's why we're still doing this. Congrats to the winners!!! David, Darius and Matt!!!

What a fun event! Thanx to all the "D" battle organizers and staff, all the drivers and pit crews. Everyone seemed to have a really good time and the bar is forever raised!
Thanks for the support guys, I hope to be back soon! Once I figure out what the hell happened! Basically I was pissing oil from somewhere and that was what got me flagged. I understand why they had to pull me. I'm upset the leak happened at that exact moment and that kept me out of the running, but hey, what r u gonna do? I'm not upset at the staff in ANY way, they had to do what was safe and I completely understand. Plus I respect the track enough to not leave puddles of oil all over the place. They put on and ran a GREAT event which showcased some awesome drifting! I had a great time and look forward to the next event! Congrats to David (you earned it bro!), Darius, Matt, Jay and Luke and all the drivers who came out and gave it their all! //Mike Pics or Vids? Last edited by madvinlyer; 04-16-2007 at 11:50 AM.. |

Autocross a Big Hit!
By: Altamont Motorsports Park Staff Autocross action was a big hit on Sunday, 15 April. AMP's pit-paddock area was filled with 62 cars entered for the timed lap, speed and car control competition. Points were issued for car control skills and only those with the fastest time laps would be in contention for the finals. The real trick in the timed lap segment of the course was not to hit a pylon (cone). Doing so lost 1-second of lap time for every pylon hit. Quite a few cars had great car control scores but lost overall points because of pylon errors. With only one car on the track at a time, one would have expected the action to be slow... but with cars manuevering through 16 corners in under 45 seconds, the action was faced-paced and a real crowd pleaser. A great showing of autocross fans - both in the pits and in the grandstands - enjoyed a lot of bright sunshine and 70-degree weather, as well as some great car control competition. AMP congratulates David Gaspar on a great win, with Darius Ghassemian (2nd), Matt Field (3rd), and Jay Lapid (4th) filling the podium Sunday afternoon. from Altamont's website lol Funnest autox i've ever been to
