1st car SBC s13 build
Hey guys, I'm new here and just going to dive right into it, I've wanted a 240 since I was about 10 and it's been a long and hard road getting one coming from a hardcore muscle car dad.
But long story short I bought my first 240 on Sunday and it's someone's unfinished project and it needs alot, which is not big deal because of the tools and parts I have at my disposal. It's a 90 hatch that someone obviously put alot of work into, 50mm VIS overfenders that are beautifully molded on, VIS Full body kit along with carbon hood and hatch, also front fenders. All brand new ISIS suspension (coilovers, upper and lower control arms, bushing, heim joints etc.) 300zx twin turbo brakes and hubs front and rear along with drilled and slotted rotors and steel braided line. Everything's new the paint hasn't even seen sun yet and hasn't even been buffed yet. I was a little hesitant in buying someone's unfinished project because I know what these cars go through but it turned out clean and rust free. The plan so far is to put together one of the 8 or so small blocks I have in my garage (I'm looking to do a high revving 283) with a 4 speed or t56 if I can get my hands on one. The car needs an interior and I'm undecided if I want to build a dash or just run a stock one. Also undecided on which diff I want to use but there's good news, I know how to use the search function, here's a little history on my backround, and where I learned all of my car knowledge, here's the website to the business my dad owns, building and restomoding cars http://www.undercoverrestorations.com/ here's some pics of the car forgot to mention it's also got a 180sx rear filler panel I believe it's called for the tailights Last edited by motoman159; 02-28-2015 at 07:31 PM.. |

Been working on it while I'm waiting for parts. Put my brakes together but didn't put the calipers on because when I test fitted the wheel after I got the first set together I realized the temp. Wheels don't fit because they hit the caliper.
Also tore out was left of the old interior, It's still immaculate underneath. razor bladed my windows so they shine like new, now I'm looking for a donor car. Last edited by motoman159; 11-08-2014 at 08:20 AM.. |

Oh I'm super happy with it. No rust anywhere and I saved alot of money. I'm not dead set on selling it I'm just testing waters on what I can get for it to put towards other parts.

Picked up some parts today,
Side glass, hatch, tail lights and usdm filler panel because jdm lights are so damn expensive, and all the trim and weatherstripping. Took about an hour and a half to pull one side glass and then literally 5 minutes to pull the other one after I figured out a better way. Now I'm debating if I should paint my bay the same color as the car or black with blue pearl. The black with blue pearl would match nicely if I did some accents that color. and a garage shot for fun. |

ok a nice little update. i bought my parts car the sunday before last,
it was diiiiirty on the outside because it had sat for 7 years, but a mint interior. i cleaned the hell out of it, put power to it and everything worked. Everything, the a/c, power windows, locks, and sunroof, radio, all of it. even the hud. pretty cool for not getting power for 7 years. got it stripped down, dash has a minor crack, doesnt bother me much though. Im going to start putting the interior in my car soon. |
