Width of a c6, 72.6 in (1844 mm)

Width of an evo, 1770 mm (69.7 in)

With of a miata, 65.9 in (1,670 mm)

All sourced form wikipedia.

So all this width bullshit is useless.

3: Dumbass

A Corolla, even in modified form, would have a hard (read: near impossible) time even keeping up with a Base beat the shit ls1 Automatic Vette, with decent tires.

Instead of blabbing off about something you have zero clue about, why not get out from behind your keyboard, goto a local HPDE, AutoX, and or Race and see what these cars actually can do. Let me assure you, you will be hard pressed to find many Corollas out there. Why even bother with a Corolla anyway when you can have a Miata?

Sounds like a case of piss driver versus power. PS: A 400whp Corolla would be JANK...all I'm picturing is a peaky, twitchy car, that would have either a hard time staying in power, and or then have a hard time putting it down once it got into it. I still know a 400 whp vette would beat up a 400 whp 'rola.
Dude, I doubt you've ever seen a decent driver from the way you talk. I've seen pretty stock B16A CR-X's hanging on the ass of 32 GTR's. Also you talk like you've never seen a decent hachi. I have. A 200 some WHP N/A 86 is a badass car. The greatest sound ever is a N/A 1.6L screaming to 9k.

Also a 400 whp hachi is a straight drag car and that's an insane car to sit shotgun in. I would know, a very good friend of mine had a SR powered T04S turbo hachi. It was insane.

Since you've never seen a decent hachi, I'll link you to these vids

If I had an e30 M3, which I would gladly give all 50 grand for one in mint condition, I'd sure as hell not destroy it trying out my novice racing skills on mountain roads.

Actually, I'd buy 2 decent condition ones for 30K, get the worse of the two's S14 motor (yeah thats the engine code lol) up to 300 hp (NA mind you) and do that. They'd both have 2.5 stroker kits, to bump up the displacement from 2.0, and I'd throw on some Bilstein coilovers, call it a day.

^^ you could get crazy and put an S38 in one of them.
really crazy and add some boost. making the car completely useless.

Evo motor + koni/H&R race. that would be a badass ride.
(S14 = 2.3L)

i have an E30. its bone stock, and 21 years old. but its fun as fuck.
modding the suspension this winter.

Lol oops. the s14 engine IS 2.3 liters... I was thinking silvia s14 i think... Yeah I really want to pick up an old e30 325is and do some modding to it. I love those. they would make good touge cars too. Small, cheap, powerful (with mods) and handle well.

mine is an '87 325is. got it with 133k on it, almost zero rust for $1700. the clutch is good, trans shifts awesome. it runs great. small issues to take care of before winter.

since ive gotten it though, ive only driven my 240 like 5 times. and i dont miss it.

I would second this. While the Z did dominate its racing class in its era and kicked the Porsche of its era's ass,it was in no way the most neutral handling car. In fact it has two distinct driving styles IMO excessive understeer or lots of power on oversteer. Neutral does not come into the equation unless you toss a SR20 in it and even then, its almost a 40 year old car that has antiquated suspension design.
There are so many cars already pointed out in this thread that would just run rings around it its silly to even think of using the Z.

Now Z's have a warm place in my heart (first sports car owned, and no the 510 is a sport sedan) but I am realistic here.

You want to know what you could get for 50k that would handle insanely in the mountains? Before I tell what it is, I will preface it with the fact that it was light years ahead of its time and laid the ground work for all mid engined Super Cars.

A Superformance, Caroll Shelby approved Ford GT40 Replica! Yes they build them for you in that price range and yes you have your choice of engines. Yes they have even made some refinements in the suspension while staying true to the initial design.
The original versions of these cars dominated Le Mans at 200mph and kicked the 512 Ferrari's ass and the Porsche 917's ass.
